I'm there Labor Day weekend. I think that is the day that one of the local dealers will be there with TPM.

@csmith12 @gogoKawi i have a question.

My tires have a couple thousand miles on them, i have about an inch or so on each side of un touched chicken strips. My friend said my tires will be fine since im going to be on the side of them all day. I just want to get other insight because i dont want to get there and they tell me that i cant ride because my tires arent fresh enough

My gut says your fine but a pic may help. Honestly, tech's inspection is visual and most likely very lenient as well... I personally go by the wear bars. If the bar is worn at all, and I mean in any way shape or form, I swap em.

As in my track day prep post in my sig., I am almost always prepped to visit the tire vendor while at the track, just in case of any unforeseen tech/flat issues.

Looks like I will see you there on the 1st! The green 250 in the avatar pic.

I'm with csmith12. Your tires sound fine, but a pic would help. If you have plenty of meat on the sides, you are good. Shenny is all turns. So I wouldn't worry about the middle unless you are at or close to the wear bars.

DOOOOD, you're gonna' have so much fun! Try and catch a tow from Dre, if you can. He looked really good out there last month, and none of the CRs will have a 250. If you really pester one of 'em, they may stick with you, but every CR that tapped his head for me to follow left me on the straights when I couldn't keep up, so it's nice to see how a 250 runs it and how much speed he can carry, etc.

The pics are small but your tires look totally fine to me.

I was out at Main today, just for the morning, on an R1. JESUS that bike is ridulous.

I think tnr4 was referring to me, probably thinking that we could run around the track together. That would be fun! I'm not sure about Monday though. Maybe depending on how I feel. But if I did Monday, I would probably ride the 600.

Food for thought. Monday is probably going to be packed. Sunday is probably going to be packed too. Just be prepared to get there early to get your spot. If I'm there, I'll send you a message the night before. Regardless, you will have a blast!

Between 6 and 7 is good. Holiday weekends are usually crazy.

Only other advice I can give is to take the first couple of sessions to learn the track and see how the others in your group ride. Learning the track takes time. Find a Control Rider (CR) and tail him so he can show you the lines. And knowing how the others ride in your group is one of those things that you will understand when you get out on the track. You will probably be in the beginner group. Some riders are a bit more confident than others. The level of experience is usually all over the place in that group. Watching how the other ride will let you know who you should avoid and who you can tag along with.

Regardless, you will have a good time. And that track was made for a 250. I can't wait to get out there!

Today was a really good day at Shenandoah. No rain. The track was nice and sticky. And there wasn't too much track drama. Old Lemon, hopefully tomorrow will be the same. As far as numbers go, it was pretty sparse, which surprised everyone since the holiday weekend is usually packed. But no complaints here.

You will enjoy yourself!

Yup! Not with the 300, though. Sold her the week before. Rode my new GSXF to the track, and demo'd an R1 for the morning sessions.
