Need help on model to order parts

Well, the wife had the bike for three days and she dropped it standing absolutely still. The fairing where the turn signal connects to is cracked so I have to order a new one but can't figure out which one. I believe they call that the lower fairing????

The thing that is really throwing me is the exact model designation. Is it an EX250-JCF or EX250-JCFA???? I can't find any definitive answer on that one.

I have attached pics of the bike. Are you able to tell me what part number I need for the RIGHT side fairing. It appears that there are many different color combinations. I am using this parts diagram....

http://www.partzilla.com/parts/searc...29/parts.html#

Do I need the one that is red and black? Is this a California bike as designated by the CA???? The bike was purchased new by the previous owner in NY.

HELP!!!!!

For $436 for one fairing I would just go Ebay and get a whole new set done in whatever color scheme you want. Couple guys here have done it with some pretty good luck.

Could you post close up images of the part that's damaged. You may not have to get the entire side fairing changed at all. I dropped mine while I was learning how to ride and I was able to patch it up.

The A at the end of a 250's model # designates a multi-tone/special edition color scheme. (2010 models end with JAF and JAFA for example)

You have a JCFA model. The 2012 model came in red/black, black w/ yellow decal accent, candy green. Green would probably be marked JCF.

http://www.kawasaki.com/Products/pro...ns.aspx?id=553

I don't know much about dealers, but it could be possible that the dealer in NY ordered your 250 cross-country from CA due to the massive demand for these bikes in the tri-state area.
The 2012 black/yellow SE 250s are very common in craigslist ads for Central NJ. The red/black model, not so much, so it may very well be a color for the CA market.

Functionally I don't think the cali model is different aside from emissions tho. The fairing shouldn't make a difference.

As has been said, you have the EX250-JCFA because of the special edition color.

You can tell if it is a California model by removing the left side cowling (also heard it called the lower cowling). There you will either see nothing, or a big ugly rectangular canister. You can also tell from your tank as the California models have three things coming from the tank while the rest of the bikes only have one. If you have the canister or the three ports from the tank, that's a CA model.

Please disregard what I am doing in this picture. i had just gotten back from riding on the Bonneville Salt Flat and had salt EVERYWHERE!

I would just get some pvc glue or use some medium CA glue and put a little on the back side and let it soak in and get some low profile signals for it, cause if she dropped it once there is no need for new fairings right now in the event something else were to happen. Maybe in a year or so you might look into replacing it with just the fairing or a complete set, or even have that one repaired.

@Shayes9761 you could contact @tygapaul (Website: http://tyga-performance.com) since they deliver oem-parts for a fair value and many guys made good success with them.
The only thing is that you would have to paint the fairing in red by yourself.

Thanks Matt.

The VIN on this bike doesn't end with an "A" though....it ends with 4 numbers. Any ideas???

Did you try contacting your insurance?

I have progressive and what my bike randomly fell over in the driveway they covered all the damage. Granted i do keep full coverage on the bike. My rates did not go up either.

My mistake, I mixed up Kawasaki's model numbers with VINs. Your VIN has nothing to do with color.

Oh, and to actually answer your question, the right hand red/black special edition lower fairing is part number 55054-5313-35G

Amazon linky showing part and picture:

Now that price is more like it. $200 cheaper than the first post. Is it a scam, just that good of a deal, or am I missing something?

Amazon may simply be just the plastic cowling and nothing else. The assembly appears to come with the padding, well nuts, bolts, washers, clips, and whatever else they fit in there.

http://www.kawasaki.com/SITE/VIVEHIC...rchModel=EX250 will list all the 250 models, or you can enter your VIN at http://www.kawasaki.com/DefaultFrame...OSEVEHICLE.ASP to get the exact details you need.
