DIY: Ebay spools review

So the first thing I ordered for my ninja 250r were spools I dont plan on buying a rear stand as 2 of my friends already own one but its very useful for working on their bikes so why not on mines?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=171057565335

this is the one that I got $12 shipped cant go wrong received it in about 4days.

pretty basic black spools with the spacer to clear the swingarm. 8mm allen key at the end.
after visiting the website on the package found them HERE

Correct thread...

Ideal length...

I bought the big tube of threadlocker in Gel form In my first ride in this bike lost exhaust hangar bolt so I plan on using this on every bolt I encounter.
The gel stuff is much thicker that then regular formula. you'll notice that you cant even thread it in by hand like you can with the liquid form but it stays on the bolt when you apply it and theres less chance of spilling. (plus this tube is much bigger harder to lose than the other tiny bottle IMO)

some threadlocker on the end...

I decided to Torque these to 21ft-lbs I went by Yoshimura specs/installation instructions since these did not come with any instructions. (harbor freight torque wrench theres no excuse for not having one of these really they go on sale for $10 every other month) after snapping a few bolts on the car I keep this really close by...

and WALLA!! dont mind the dirty frame RI inspection sticker was there found it odd MA one goes on the plate.

same on the other side using a tad less threadlocker after realizing I put too much and it oozed out on the other side.

Ill test these after my friends swings by with the lift and we do my oil change I'd do a write up but theres already a really throughout out floating around here.

I could also adress my bent stand? just doesnt look right and bike seems to lean a whole lot more than normal.

any ideas how/where to straighten it from?

Nice DIY!

Is the side stand mount tab bent or the side stand itself?

I never fully trust a bent stand unless I have a machinist retool it. Cheaper piece of mind can be found by buying a new or gently used on.

Don't know I'm on the edge if I want to buy a used stand on ebay to try it out

This is the most detailed DIY for screwing in a bolt that I've ever seen. Nice job

i saw a horror story happen when my friend used some ebay spools but never took care in tightening them or to even check if the bolt was as long as it should be none the less one day he went to lift it and one side snapped because it was halfway out his buddy was kneeling next to the bike and caught it with his upper body the 600 was fine minus a scratched swingarm none the less Im just trying to be helpful
