What lube should a use for the choke slide?

My choke slide mechanism is sticking sometimes in the mornings which I am sure makes my neighbors very happy. What lube would you recommend?

Whatever you use to lube the cables. The choke is cable operated as well.

WD-40, spray lithium lube, even thin all-purpose oil would be best... However, if it's binding, it's not just about lubing, it's also about cleaning. There is gunk in there... Get yourself a cable lubricator and hose down the inside with WD-40 and compressed air... then lubricate.

and get to the other end on the carbs to catch the extra fluid on the other side, otherwise you'll create a mess around your carbs, and nobody likes a dirty carb.

You've got a few areas to evaluate and consider...the handlebar lever mechanism, the cable, the choke bar on the carbs (which slides on plastic washers and utilizes a return spring) and the actual brass plungers (enrichener slides, if you will)

what lube and corrective action depend on the specific area causing the problem.

Leave the handlebar mechanism dry
cable lube (obvious)
white lithium grease on the plastic washers
clean and polish the brass plungers

Anyone used Triflow before? I use this religiously on my bicycles. Never had a rusted brake or derailleur cable. I used to commute via bicycle. Keeping the bikes in tip top operating order was a top priority.

Wondering if anyone use Triflow for motorcycle cables.

^ been around in MC shops for years, sold it in the mid-70's when working at a dealer. Customers loved it, contains teflon, worked good in many applications. Became repeat customers.

It's definitely on the carb itself because I remember it being a little stiff when swapping them. WD40 worked for a bit but I'll try the lithium grease. I tried to loosen the slide screws a bit but they are really on there and don't want to strip them.
