Gotta love it when they steer the bike with the rear wheel. A little "flat track" action.

Haha, yeah, the haunted house is still there on the boardwalk. Last time I actually went on the ride was like in 2005, and yeah, the guy was still there.... LOL

During high school my friends and I used to save all year and then go in together and rent a place there for the summer. That was back in the 80's. Staying wasted for a whole summer, chasing girls and crashing for the night on the beach every now and then. Good times.

Hot weather is almost upon us. Hot chicks in bikinis for the next few months. I envy you.... Enjoy!!!

Awesome detective work @Motofool. That save is beyond 99% of riders, that is why they are the pro's.

Colin Edwards had a little more energetic save, but it did ruin his lap.
screw it, I can't get the embedding to work.

I think Casey's was more impressive. Colin just held the bike up on his knee in the hope that the front would regain traction, which it eventually did. Casey felt the front losing traction, and instead of letting the front fold under, he turns the bars in the opposite direction to push the front tire into the pavement and regain traction, and getting it back in line smoothly right afterwards. He only lost a second or so and kept at it for the rest of the lap.

Great description, Alex !!!

Increasing the radius of the turn (simultaneously with reducing speed (hear the engine)) reduced centripetal acceleration and side force (increasing vertical force) on the patch enough for the tire "to grab" the track again.

Nerves of steel and deep understanding of dynamics !!!

Absolutely incredible. These men are gods. I only hope I can someday ride around a track with even a fraction of their skill.

Nope, they just deeply understand and feel what is happening at each heartbeat and develop an intimate relationship with machine and track.

Natural skills, practice, study, competition, and a handful of virtues like passion, self-confidence, tenacity, etc. get combined in some persons more harmonically than in others.

Since they happen, these incredible things are physically possible.
These riders just know exactly when "Do Something, or do Nothing".

Like musicians, we riders are artists, and by opportune combination of actions, we can create noise (like most of us) or a divine melody (like proficient racers).

We are lucky enough to have more than one of these racers posting in this forum; let's humbly learn from them.
