09 250R possible vacuum Leak?
I lived in NY so 8 months of the year the bike was in the garage covered up. only has 9k miles on it, driven very lightly.
My 09 Ninja 250r Idles great when the choke is on. When i press the accelerator 10-15% the rpms drop until the bike stalls. At first i thought it was a dirty carb so i dissassembled it several times cleaned and put them back in. Same issue. There is no fuel leak, but i suspect there is a vaccume leak, maybe an O ring between the carbs. not sure. Has anyone had this problem? Is there a Vaccume hose diagram anywhere? just so i now what to troubleshoot. |

It's almost certainly a carburetor passage or passages that you didn't get clean. These carbs are famous for that... they look clean, but somewhere where you can't see it, they're not clean.
I've always done my own carb work, but when my 250 started acting up I sent the carbs to Ducatiman here on the board, and he brought them up to like-new spec. Last futzed with by Triple Jim; June 8th, 2021 at 02:51 PM. |

Problem solved! all the symptoms Said, "clean the carbs" after a TON of cleaning and no progress. I finally checked one o the hoses. The hose was loose. maybe a little worn out. after replacing the bike runs like new!

FIX:The circled hose was ever so slightly stretched out and would not fit snug, even with better hose clamps on it. I swapped out the hose with a 1mm smaller one to guarantee it fits and put on new hose clamps for insurance and it fixed my problem.
The bike is a little jumpy at low speeds, but on Highway speed it runs perfectly. i suspect a minor tuning is in order Photo: https://imgur.com/a/2H4iZ9E |
