Oh, no worries, that footage is "over a year old"

oh, i WILL have a camera by then, and it WILL be a GoPro because they're awesome with tons of mounting options. I also found a suit that should fit me right, and is in a good price range, thanks to alex.s. I just need to bite the bullet and spend the money on the suit + back protector. I'm still checking ebay religiously though, just in case

The new hero 3 just came out, so hopefully it will drive the prices down on all the other cameras. Wait, what does that mean if its over a year old?

Statute of limitations for stuff like this is a year. I think. Whatever, not worried about it.

Can I Join? I'm planning some long ass trips for next year and think it would be cool to ride to Ohio for a track day/weekend!

Well that was a fun read...

I was trying to find a good list of stuff that has to be safety wired, and ended up reading 3 pages of man-snugglin'. But dang if I couldn't stop reading!

I started through that thread the other day, but it wasn't what I was looking for. Turned into a huge convo about geometry specs.

I know I had a list saved somewhere that had bullet points for everything. ie, Safety wire on - this bolt, this bolt, this bolt... Radiator flush for water wetter... etc

Well lemme see if can remember everything, but not all are required depending on trackday/race org.

Da Saftety Wire List

Oil (The big 3 for most track day orgs in the higher level groups)
Oil Fill
Oil Drain
Oil Filter

Brakes
Front and rear brake banjo bolts
Caliper mount bolts
Brake pad alignment and slide bolts
Pads within spec
Levers function properly

Throttle
Snaps back to closed
Grips are securely glued or safety wired

Coolant
Coolant flush bolt
Coolant fill cap
Flush/Fill with water wetter

Wheels/Tires
Front and rear axle castle nuts (pinch bolts)
Rear axle adjusters
Tape over wheel weights
80% or better tread (YMMV some orgs are very lenient)

Exhaust
Exhaust hanger bolts
Exhaust springs

Switches
Functional kill switch

Not required but highly recommended;
Chain master link - clip style
Front sprocket nut

I am sure I am forgetting something.

If your racing, they will most likely tech your helmet as well. 5yr born on date, any older and you fail!

Also....

Nothing says "I wanna fail tech" better than going through with a dirty bike and/or rusty a** chain. Keep her clean.
