First Ninjette! Very fun!
I bought an 06 Ninja 250 on CL for $360 with a title and I bought an 03 250 parts bike for $250 on CL, and I managed to put together a decent running bike with about 9,500 miles on it. I put the good fairings off of one of the bikes and did a tune up on it. The faq.ninja250.org website was a huge help, and some stuff on here was helpful. If anyone else is in the Memphis area, I do very small group rides with my friends at Shelby Forest almost every Sunday.
So far here is what I've done to it. Cleaned and adjusted the chain. Adjusted the valves. Cleaned and adjusted the carbs. New Battery. Switched the good fairings onto the bike. Put good stock exhausts on the bike (they were gutted when I bought it) Installed some handlebar mirrors (didn't have any) Replaced the foot pegs and left side rearset because they were broken. Fixed leaking gas tank. Rebuilt petcock. Still needs some cosmetics and I have Michelin City Grip tires on the way, but it runs great and is a blast to ride! Here is some pictures next to my girlfriends 05 Suzuki Burgman 400. I still plan on adding some turn signals, saddlebags, a taller windscreen, 0.75 kg fork springs and oil, and a zx600 rear shock. |

Nice to meet you, Spencer. If you haven't already, you might consider a newgen rear shock. I put one on my '05 and it did everything I needed it to.
I really like the red and black. |

It's awesome! My girlfriend and I rode the tail earlier this year and she was out riding some of the sport bikes! Very fun scooter! Ours is modded with Dr pulley sliders, Dr pulley Hit clutch, Leo Vince exhaust, and a power commander. She is right next to the Ninja on take off up to 50 mph, but her cruising ability is nicer for sure. 6800 rpm at 75 mph. She has also clocked in 8000 miles since we bought it in May of this year, she rides everyday even in the rain!

Sounds like a good option, I read about them on Ninja.faq, they should be great for me especially being that I'm only 145 lbs

I went with Sonic springs for the front, same story. There's a lot of adjustability there with varying the oil level. |

Stock, if I nailed the front brake, I could get the fork to bottom hard. It absolutely does not do that now. The guys who are on the track more than I am can comment on whether or not you need to deviate from Sonic's instructions, but I don't see a reason. |
