Hi from CO, I have some questions?

Great forum, I'm glued to it already!

I recently purchased an '09 ninja 250 which I plan on racing in a 250 class next season. Any suggestions on exhaust systems (I need a complete system, no slip-ons)? I have been researching the Jardine GP1 system and it seems like a decent system at a great price. The only caveat I've seen so far is that it does not have a power commander / dyno jet fuel mappig available. Can anyone attest to this?

Lastly, any suggestions with regard to aftermarket fork springs and cartridges?

Thanks!

A few of the MRA racers I've seen out here are using Area P, which I also use. I have no idea what the jardine will dyno for performance gains, but it may be fine for track duty. Jetting your exhaust is going to be trial and error either way. There are some threads on here about jetting also some stuff in the wiki that may be helpful.

With regards to suspension, no idea I am so light that it really doesn't matter for me. Stock seems pretty good, with maybe upping the oil weight from 10w to 15w in the forks. Some people get gixxer shocks for the rear.

Thanks for the invite, It's definitely touch-&-go with racing mods. Bart down at faster is touting the danmoto exhaust. I talked to him today and he said the leo and the danmoto both made equivalent hp (1.5) however it requires an o2 sensor elim, and the tig welding is hit-or-miss (mostly miss i've heard). cheap tho so who knows...

00nissanninja: the weight thing (or lack there of) is definitely a variable, I weight 185 and am running race viscosity fork fluid, stock springs, and stock cartridges, and it still feels like im bouncin off a black chicks ass... time to hit up dave @ stm... any idea what madama and baker are using in their forks?

are you gonna be at hpr 7/27 - 29?

Naw, no HPR for me till I get my own truck. I would like to race on it though; I've only been out there to watch and chat with the MRA racers. I get my track fix at IMI for the time being since its cheap and little prep needs to be done. Fork seals aren't a terrible job but its messy as hell. Good luck getting the forks tuned up, I hear race tech suspension components are good.

If you plan on racing with the MRA don't bother changing the rear shock. We have to use the stock one. As far as exhaust, I am using the PLMfg I found on this forum. It's a full exhaust and I paid $150 for it. If you want to come out to the track during race weekends we have Superstreet Races where unlicensed racers go through some classes and on track training then a short race. People seem to love it when they aren't ready to commit to a whole season of racing. It also seems to be one of the most popular races. Most of the racers line up to watch the Superstreet Race. If you want to know more give me a call 256-689-8429 Peanut.

Whoa, that's an awesome price on that exhaust! I'll give you a call to find out more. I've done 3 superstreets this year on an sv650 and am planning to race novice gtu this weekend at hpr on the sv. Are you racing this weekend / going to be at the track-day 7/27 @ hpr? Talk soon.
