Thumbs up Hello Ducati!!!!!!

I am not leaving my Ninja 250 brotherhood , but I am changing the reason for owning the 250. I have ventured to the track alot more lately and with increased speed, come increased damage when you lowside . Enough lowsides have forced me to make my little ninjette a track only back (gladly doing so). This way if I crash out, I still have a street bike to ride.

Enter......

2005 Ducati Monster 620. Got it for a good price (for me to know only), with 6600 miles on the clock. It came with the rear seat cowl, and a full service job performed. This is a great bike for every day riding and I am glad I purchased it for my daily commuter/fun weekend bike. I will give it a month or two before I start to make it my own, style and performance, I will also post updated pics of the bike then. If you have any questions regarding the bike I will gladly answer, but until then, enjoy the pics.

I will still be on the forum alot, but probably just in a different location. Ninjette at Speed

Yeah, the bike comes with a chipped key for some anti-theft security, but the thing stays in the garage at night, and at work we are far enough off the road that it would be noticable if someone tries to take her from me.

The exterior mods will come in time. I am open to all options, but that damn duck bill fender is the first to go. Also looking into high mounts for the exhaust, but in due time.

The wind isn't too bad, but you do get some head shaking. Not as bad as you would think.

Great looking bike... Be sure and give a ride report after you get some good time in the seat... This bike is on my short list this fall... I'm thinking about getting one as a backup bike, if I can find one for aroud $4k or less...

So, are you used to that desmo ticking yet? Anytime I am around a Ducati, it takes my brain a minute to register that it's not broken, it just has a unique, sexy mating call. lol

Congrats on the bike. I definitely approve!

Very nice.

It's great having a motorcycle to ride and a little better yet to have alternative motorcycles to ride when the feeling hits.

I do believe you know that!

Very nice.

Very nice bike man. I'd agree with you that the duck tail fender is the first to go and then possibly the mirrors. The mirrors in my opinion don't look too bad. However, I assume the position of those mirrors would be safer than the bar end mirrors? Once again congrats and ride safe!

What's the service scedule on the 696? I would love to have one, but the cost of service makes me worry.

How is the cornering on a 696? Beautiful bike, but I heard it lacks ground clearance.

Its a 620, but the cornering does leave something to be desired. But, I am a little bit larger than the average guy on this board so I need to upgrade the spring rates on the front and rear. I also heard that if you buy a set of "lowering" links, that you can actually raise the back end with them and increase ground clearance. Also, high mount help with ground clearance as well. All of these are on my "to do" list. Tires as well. I have a mix of Diablos and BT-023 front/rear. I really want a good touring tire for the longer rides.

I have ridden it appoximately 600 miles, and enjoy it. The power is just enough and the body positioning is great. If you are looking for an upgrade, but not an insane one, I would definitely look at a V-Twin motorcycle, especially the Ducati Monster.

Just sold my ninja last night! I reallllly want a 848sf, so I'm tempted just to hold off and save up for that.

Quick update on the bike. I had a little hiccup with the Ducati. While cruising down the road, on my way to work, the bike just cut out on me. I couldn't get the bike to restart so I had to call my parents to bring the trailer. I called up Ducati and they told me to bring it in. Failed fuel line from the fuel pump. Fixed for free, bike is back and purring again.

Not to hijack your thread... but I am going to look at a 2001 M600 this weekend. Love your bike. The one I am looking at looks very similar.

First mods would be hack off the rear duck bill, new tires, and flip the handlebars.

Its been a while since I posted about my Ducati, still kicking strong and as good as the day I bought it. I did get lucky with the dealership fixing it for free. I haven't modded the bike yet because I have been doing the track mods to the 250, and spending my time working and at the track.

Bar end mirrors are on the list, or maybe just some shorter/more sleak mirrors.
High Mount exhaust, K&N filter, and retune
Also chopping the duck tail off and getting some more attractive turn signals.
I am trying to decide if I want to powdercoat the wheels gold also???? HMM

Thanks for all the compliments on the bike.

Any updates on the bike? How are you enjoying the bike? Did you end up making any suspension adjustments?
