Green 08 Newbie

Hey there, my names Mitch and I ride a beautiful green ninja 250 08. I bought a ninja 250 because every source I read seemed to say that I could become a good rider fastest on this bike. Thats my dream, to get as good as possible at riding, for safety and my own pleasure. I welcome any tips on riding(non MSF course stuff haha). Seems like the pro AMA and motoGP riders do some interesting stuff with their heads the way they look into corners that makes them faster/more stable, I'd like to learn what thats about. (and everything else)

Anyways, heres some pics of my bike, Archion.

Hello and welcome to the site!! Nice looking girl you got there.

May I ask why no MSF stuff? If you've never ridden before it is a great resource.

One resource I like to watch when I have a specific question is Howzit Done on YouTube with Captain Crash. I like the way he demonstrates some techniques for beginners. They may help you. http://www.howzitdonecrash.com/

Welcome to the forum and the sport!

If you haven't seen this yet,

Link to original page on YouTube..

I'd definitely look into getting books like "Twist of the Wrist 2","Total Control", and "Proficient Motorcycling". Also, there's a video on youtube called "No Prisoners 2012". An hour compilation of motorcycle accidents... Alot can be learned from other's mistakes and situations.

Ride safe and have fun!

You wana get fast and skillful quick? then look up M1GP and go race a couple rounds. If you don't have a bike get in contact with the riders and ask to join one of the many teams that enter the endurance races. Most teams invite a random rider or two and have 4-10 riders on a team. Here's a video of the last race I did with them a few months back.

Most definitely the fastest way to get fastest. Endurance races 2, 4, 6, 8 hours of full on experience.

To sign up for such a thing, would i need to already have the skills to fluently go around a track beforehand?

There was at least three riders I passed in that video that had never ridden before that weekend. They spent the whole day Saturday learning how to ride and raced on Sunday. A friend of mine has a private one on one clinic that teaches you how to ride/race the nsr, his name is Mike Franklin. Mike also runs a moto repair shop out of his garage so if you ever need repairs or tuning and don't want to pay stealership prices I highly recommended giving him a call.

Stop thinking negatively and just go do it. You might find it isn't as hard as you think. For crying out loud if that rojo kid can do it anyone can do it (maybe not as good but nevertheless).
