SoCal Meet - 5/19/12 Gerry's Grill
So we've been talking about another meet for the 250 crowd. There were some riders who couldn't make it out to the last one and requested a meet on a weekend.
I picked a place that'll make it easier for some of the newer riders to make the trip. Gerry's Grill The City Plz 11710 South St, Ste 107 Artesia, CA 90701 8pm The parking lot is right outside the dining area w/ a large window so all of our bikes will be perfectly visible. I'm expecting more riders who've never been to the track so it'd be great if you track vets could be there to talk about what to expect at the Nov 9 Noob Track Day. actually all that you *have* to do is finish your belly pan and safety wire. The wiring you can do in a day. The belly pan you're getting there with.

HEY EVERYBODY!!!!
So we're thinking about also going to the Kawasaki Ticket to Ride event on Sunday the 20th at Angel Stadium. Anybody who wants to join that would be awesome but you need to get there really earl (see, 7AM at the latest) to get a decent spot. (stay away from the zx10r-zx6r...dibs!) The event is also being held on the 19th at the same location. All you do is show up, sign a waiver and ride brand new 2012 bikes FO FREE. I suggest doing both days to get your fill but I know a few of us are planning on only doing Sunday as we just did the rides this weekend as well. |

That's cool Eddy.
Ticket to ride is as simple as show up, sign a waiver, and sign up (one bike at a time) for a ride on the new 2012 kawasaki of your choice. You ride in a group (either sport or cruiser) with control riders, hitting freeway shortly and streets. It depends on traffic and how the control riders are feeling but sometimes you hit speeds of up to 120, sometimes you never top 70. Either way it's totally worth it, they will have all of their models there. If they make it this year, it's there to ride. Be sure to show up way early (think 7AM latest) to get a decent ride times. Sign ups start at 8 and rides at 9AM but if you show up at 9 a lot of the popular super sports will be signed up for until 2 PM

The trick to having a good demo ride is stranding a group of riders at a light so you only have one control rider per group, then you can hang back of the control rider and have some fun. What you do is try and time a light and slow down, as the light changes go through it and catch up with the rest of the group, the people behind you will stop at the light as they are instructed to do and well because they are noobs and all scared and stuff.
I did that at the ims, you and gurk came through the light max and stayed with us but i stranded tracie and those two other people and got to thrash on that 10R If i remember correct you seemed to have fun with no one watching on that zx6

There is not. Just show up at Angels stadium Sunday morning brighttttt and early so that you can get an early ride. If you show up any time after 8 I wouldn't expect to ride a super sport until at least 1
