I usually just call it "the Little Bike".
I have never been good at naming vehicles and making it stick.

Finally Decided! Her name is now and forever will be Neener. Why? Beats me but it bothers the woman lol. I've noticed that there are 2 kindas of set ups for men with motorcycles, either you have the wife and the bike, or you have the wife... and the bike lol

The little 250, first real love of my life, he will forever and always be Jette to me. I've tried a few other names but they just aren't sticking. As for the 636, she has a temporary name of Puck until I can get her on the track and really feel her out. Still breaking her in and hoping for some decent riding weather this weekend. School has really cut into my ride time!

My 300 is Saturn, a bit of a tribute to my totaled 250.
For back story: my 250 was black and yellow, so I named it "Hotaru" which is Japanese for firefly. In Sailor Moon that is the name of Sailor Saturn's human identity, so I decided the 300 would be Saturn. |

I keep trying to find something that fits... but so far, nothing. Had her since November. Every now and then "Little Girl" comes out in an affectionate way... maybe that's her name? Idk. I talk to her like a friend, but no name has came to mind that fits just right.

OK, I've decided to name my Ninjette. I will call her SADAKO, which in Japanese means "proper child" (more or less). It's a pretty name, plus I am a big fan of the Ringu movie series!

Ok, selected an appropriate feminine name for the Ninjette. But we're going with a Cantonese flavor:

My 250 goes by the name Elysium, or Ely for short.
She was neglected and dead when I found her, so I vowed to give her a happy second life of proper maintenance and frequent back road riding. |

New to Ninjette
Just bought it (them) today and haven't see them yet. Complete bike with bad bodywork and spun crank bearings. Parts bike has engine with very low compression. Hmmmm. Will be looking to make a naked bike for my wife. Picking it up next weekend. What do people do about the fairing mounting bosses on the tank? definitely want to get rid of them.
I'll probably ride it as much as she will. I've been on two wheels for many years, and, like many of my more experienced friends, find riding the snot out of a smaller bike to be one of life's great pleasures! |

Mine is on its third name.
When I got the bike I also had a Mean Streak. Since at the time I was playing (and loving!) BioShock, the Mean Streak was Big Daddy and the 250 was Little Sister. Then I sold the Mean Streak, so "Little Sister" didn't really make sense anymore. So for the next 4 years it was simply called "The Green Bike." Now I have just begun the process of stripping it down to make it a naked/cafe bike. I don't yet have a replacement headlight, instrument cluster or mirrors, and without the front cowl the stock setup looks like a bug's head and antennae, so its current name is Skeeter. |
