Long distance ride: need HELP

So my boyfriend, Oblivion007, and I are heading back to our home town on a motorcycle. It's about a 12 hour drive and I will be his passenger. Any tips on preserving my butt? We will be stopping every hour to take a break from sitting on the motorcycle, but I know that I'll probably be bruised from the tiny seat. We don't have much money so this is pretty much the only way to get home. Tips on staying as comfortable as possible? Or something that will soften the seat so that I won't die? Thank you.

Get a foam seat pad and fasten it well to the tail.

You legs might get cramped from the peg position depending on your height.
Not sure how to fix that...

Best bet is go to wall-mart and get some kind of padding you can strap to the seat

get a richer boyfriend

stops would be the best way on a budget, it'll be a long 12 hour drive though for the both of you. why not split it into two days, bring a tent. stop along the way, hike around, take pictures. i see your in texas, go shoot stuff.

As long as you're taking breaks every hour or two, I think you're going to be fine.

Without pics, hard to say. But your bf probably wouldn't approve. Good idea on the one hour breaks. My friend did a long motorcycle trip as a passenger and the hardest thing for her was staying awake. Have a safe trip

Alex has it right.
Every 2 hours is good...but the more you get off and walk a bit...the easier it will be. I did this many times and the difference when you stop often is incredible.

Since we are leaving tomorrow I wouldn't be able to get the leather seat pad, although the rest of these suggestions sound great! Thank you. Hmm, I did not consider that staying awake would be something I'd have to worry about. It's day time though when we'll be traveling, so I'm more worried about the heat. Plus Oblivion007 said he'd tie me to him if I wanted to sleep. :P

As others suggested, stop @ every 2 hours or so and get off and walk around. Relax while seating and move around a bit ocassionally so that you are not locked into the same position all the time. Enjoy the scenery and the adventure!

I don't think tying you to him will help. In fact, if you slide along his side you could fall off and potentially pull him off with you.

My favorite response haha.

So we got back in town this morning around 2am. Riding in the night was scary but riding near the car with awesome headlights made me feel much better. Real bumpy, ass hurts but coming home to the 650 is kind of cool. Nice and comfy seat in comparison and rides well.
