Hello from Central Florida

Hello everyone. This seems to be a great site. I was going to make some modifications to my little bike and post the before and after pics for people to see. I just got a Zero Gravity DB windscreen and it looks really nice. I have the pics I just need to figure out how to post them. Anyways a couple of days later (two weeks ago) I was on my way to work about 4:30 in the morning and unfortunately I hit a deer. I was only doing about 45mph when I saw two of them jump from the edge of the woods and even though I tried to brake and swerve it seems as if the one came straight for the headlight. The deer's front and back legs kinda straddled my front tire and I hit her right in the side. The impact knocked her down but she jumped right back up and took off. I made my way to a street light where I saw my cowling around my headlight was broke in two peices. After I got to work and it got daylight I saw the real damage. The front cowling was broke, the upper cowling bracket behind the plastic was bent beyond repair and one of the two side plastics was destroyed where it fits together with the front cowling. I have just replaced the upper cowling bracket and have the front cowling and proton flushmount turn signals on the way. I will get the pics up as soon as I can of the damage and the repair process. Oh yeah, the DB windscreen made it through without a scratch.I guess I am just glad I managed to keep the bike upright and was uninjured myself. And hopefully the deer was ok too.

Well good evening to everyone. Just letting you guys know I received my proton flushmounts a couple of days ago. anyway if these things are plug and play then what am I doing splicing all these wires?(LOL) O.K so I went to install these things which are going to look fantastic. I took a look at the DIY for these things and let me advise anyone else who may be installing these to stay away from that thread. O.K so I installed the protons and they worked great but the stock rear blinkers lit up and stayed on and the flasher light on the instrument panel stayed lit continous. The protons were functioning perfectly. The DIY thread went into all sorts of things like resistors, diodes, relays, ect. All I did was went to Discount Auto and bought a Tridon EL 12 electronic flasher relay, came home unplugged the stock relay, plugged in the new(truly a plug and play) no need to remove rear plastic to access stock relay. and perfection. It all works great. All said and done. Splice two wires on each side, plug in new relay= finished. The parts to finish putting my little bike back together will be here on the 14th. I'll get it back together and post the finished pics along with the flushmounts. Have a great and safe night everyone.

O.K so I had to come back and apologize for telling people to avoid that flushmount DIY thread. I honestly appreciate all of the info I get from this site and others like it. I just went back and reread the whole thing again and like I said was left pretty confused on the installation. Maybe sometime I will get the patience to do a DIY on something. O.K. I feel better now.
