Cool I'll keep it in mind. I was looking at one that was 2K last week. Now it's down to 1200('03), but it's a bit far to go for a bike ( 210 miles one way). There are a couple closer for around 1900 ('05's), so I'm kinda hoping they'll drop a bit too.

First of all, since when has Montana formerly been known as Washington?
Second, since when has 210 miles been to far when you live in Montana and it's 133 miles to go to a convenience store. Third, winter is my favorite time of year to ride.

Don't you live in FL? Because then that would make complete sense. The fall is my fav. problem is, it's too short.

I imagine California would be the exception to this? As we have riding weather pretty much year-round...?

WOW
Back on topic...its not that far, but I'd rather drive 50 miles one way than 210(especially for a bike that's sight unseen). Second, seeing as how this is MY thread, I'll call Montana any damn thing I please

The other thing you want to consider with buying a bike in winter is test rides. I refuse to buy a bike without being able to ride it; a test ride can tell you a ton about a bike and it's condition.
As Chris said, your selection in late fall will be better, but it will also allow you a test ride without worrying about winter conditions. (I assume you have winter from that last post?) In NE Ohio (the snowbelt especially), test riding a bike from Nov-March could be either totally fine with clear roads, or could be impossible due to snow. Either way, it would be cold and unpleasant. |

thanks for all the replies guys(especially CC Cowboy lol). I'm looking at a Yamaha dualsport sometime in the next day or two. It's no Ninjette, but it's here in town, so I'm at least gonna take a look
