G'day all, New rider in Oz

Howdy all, took delivery of these 2 beauties today, the CBR is my wife's and the Ninja is mine!!!! we're doing our learners this weekend, (if we fail we'll look really silly )

I was meant to be getting a green ninja, but Kawasaki's shipment to Australia failed to deliver any!! to the whole country... very happy with the black though... just looks so slick

Big thanks to all of the posters here at Ninjette, lots of helpful info through many many posts, and lots of great pics that kept me drooling till mine turned up

Tom

PS.. forgot to add, fuel tank beeped at me as soon as i tilted it off the kickstand

Welcome mate, nice looking pair you got there. Where in Australia are you from -- just wondering if LAMS affected you?

How much did you pay for the Ninjette altogether if you don't mind me asking.

I just can't wait till I get that gigantic, hidious 'L' plate on my first bike (250R of course).

No CBR125's here. They wouldn't be freeway legal, so there'd be much less of a market for them.

Welcome to the wild side. Hope you and SWMBO enjoy your bikes. Couple of questions. From the looks of your garage, you are also a scuba diver and a astronomer, am I right? What is the "L" on your plate and what is LAMS. Just curious on those last 2.

Thanks
I'm holding onto the scuba gear for someone else, and picked up the telescope a couple of years ago, just havent got around to using it yet.. low on the priority list...

In Australia the first permit you get for riding/driving is a learner permit, which has special restrictions, and requires a rear L plate to be displayed (warns other road users that you may not know what you are doing ), it also restricts the bikes you can ride while a learner based on power/weight ratio, (nothing over 650cc and so on)

The first 20KM is on the ninjette, did some slow riding round the neighbourhood yesterday after getting the important bit of paper, loving every minute of it.. looks like i'll be changing oil on the weekend hooray...

hhmm, not a bad idea, here whether you have 1 days experience or 20 yrs, no difference on the tags, at least in the places that I have been.
