This picture is the most confusing diagram ever.

Basically you rear-ended him? If so, it's your fault. Legally and regularly.
Maintain enough following distance to be able to stop.

The fault belongs to the person who trained you and skipped the fundamental learning and practice of emergency stops and swerving (emergency avoidance maneuvers).

Moving forward is much easier than stopping in time, reason for which, I believe that nobody should roll away in a motorcycle before mastering quick and controlled stopping.

Please, take a look at these:
http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=136629

http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=149961

Speed is not what hurt us, what can hurt or kill us is the sudden stops against other stationary objects.
We either develop the skill of avoiding that, or suffer the consequences of the unforgiving Physics.

To all:

We were going right and we both knew the destination.
The redlight was on the other side and he stopped thinking it was in our direction.

Sorry Pat, this most likely does not change who is at fault in this case. Why he stopped is actually quite irrelevant. What if he stopped to allow a pedestrian the right of way?

Fact is, rear ending another vehicle is 99% of the time is the fault of the following vehicle because they were following to closely or not paying enough attention. To prove that was not the case, is extremely difficult.

To all:

this isn't serious because i know the rider and i didn't even leave a scratch on his bike..I just made the thread to get other ppl's opinion
btw there were no pedestrians... but i guess it wud be my fault not leaving enough following space.

it's your fault, "boi"

I'm glad neither of you were injured and that no damage was sustained. I understand your frustration with your friend's sudden, unexpected stop but it's still the following rider's responsibility to stay behind enough to be able to brake safely. Hopefully an important lesson learned.

And it's your fault. There's rarely ever a good reason for rear ending someone

What's with all the extra arrows and **** on the diagram? It's completely useless information for the scenario. And how did he manage to think it was him who had the light? Oh, wait... cuz Azian4lifz..
Also, ride staggered like you are supposed to.

yo phat boi get it strait up yo.

you ran into him. it is your fault. 100%. if you don't have enough room to stop if someone in front of you stops, and don't know how to go around them, you are doing some serious wrongs. maybe learn how to drive before you group ride and run into your boi, yo.

it is YOUR fault, you ran into him, he could have stopped for a million reasons, and you have to allow enough space between you and the vehicle in front of you to safely stop.
