Howdy's From GA

Just wanted to throw a shout out to everyone here. I'm new to the forum, but not to motorcycling. My name's Mike, I've been riding for 13 years, and I'm from Atlanta, Georgia.

Got my first bike when I was 17; a Black '97 EX250.

Second bike was a '00 Red EX250.

Third bike was a '00 Honda Rebel.

Fourth bike was an '02 Yellow EX250.

Currently my buddy is attempting to get it running/turn it into a Streetfighter.

Fifth bike was an '01 Suzuki GS500.

Sixth bike was an '03 Honda Shadow ACE 750.

Seventh bike was an '03 Suzuki SV650.

Eighth bike is a 2011 Ninja 250RSE.

Ninth/Wifey's is an '01 EX250R.

I rode full-time/motorcycles only from '98 - '02. I've logged easily over 50-60 thousand miles on bikes. I had my pick of the litter, in terms of scoring a new scoot, but I chose to go back to the quarter-litre Ninja, because, quite frankly, it's been my favourite bike. I often joke, "Mustang Performance - Prius Gas Mileage".

The SV650 taught me quite a bit about what is possible, at least in my area, with a lot of torque and horsepower. At 138, you've pretty much hit a turn you can't make at that speed, or, as is usually the case, you've come upon some traffic that causes a massive reduction in speed, thusly killing your buzz.

The 250 is the best handling bike I've ever owned, or ridden, and that's what really floats my boat. The only gripes I have are minor, such as the lame rear-fender, and the factory handlebars (someone recommend me some clip-ons!).

I've had two accidents in 13 years, one on the GS500, when I hit a raised concrete island at night, wearing a tinted visor, and another on the '02 EX250, when I was sitting on the windscreen with my feet on the front fender, and trying to ramp a sidewalk.

Well, that's it for the intro, just thought I'd say hey.

Welcome, I have noticed a decent amount of 250s around the Atlanta area; not sure how many are members.

I've seen a couple of classic 250's riding around. I know there's a 2009 250R in my subdivision, but I haven't introduced myself to the owner yet.

What part of town are you in? I'm OTP North.

Tech used to be on my city-tour riding route.

Thanks. I've been wanting to ride out to Elberton. I seem to remember it being pretty country/scenic out that way.

Thanks. I was being a silly kid, watching too many StarBoyz videos and getting my stuntz on.

When I burned out my clutch on the SV650 I stopped being quite as rough on bikes.
