Driven Clip-ons Installed
Like the title says I installed my Driven Clip-ons that I purchased from bohemian racing.
Install went very smoothyl because of Forceofwill's DIY. Here: http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=97552 The only thing I had to do additionally was to turn the brake line coming off the front reservoir so that it was horizontal instead of vertical, which allowed me to clear all the body work and gauges. |

After the install (and letting the lock-tite set) I took it out for a 75km ride to test them out. And WOW what a difference, I'm 6' 165lbs with long arms and this made all the difference in comfort. It's definitely a lot harder on your back and core, but the stretched out feel these give you is awesome.
Glad I picked them up, and would recommend them to anyone that's a bit taller if you're feeling a cramped up on the stock bike. |

For me, it's the riser that's rubbing on the black cowling. Here are some pics I snapped earlier with my drift. It's not much but enough that I can't claim them to be clear lock-to-lock.
This me the part that rubs on the black cowling. This is the right side Here it is making contact on the left side Proof that it's actually rubbing

Let me check when I get home from work tonight and I'll compare your pictures to my bike. I'll see if I can help.

G'day, gents!
I don't mean to butt in, but I'm kinda interested to know if you've managed to get the clip-ons to not rub against the cowling. I'm thinking of getting a set of Drivens myself. Cheers! |

Mine don't rub, but I haven't had a chance to take those pictures yet.
Let me know which pictures to take and where would help most. |

Can you please take a pic of the clearance between the clip-on and the cowling at full lock? I'd also be interested to see the horizontal angle of the bars (top view) and the distance of the clip-on clamp to the underside of the triple clamp if it's not too much to ask. Cheers! |

Some of those pics are hard to see, it's really hard to get a good pic at full lock with all the cables. I'll put up all the pics I took and maybe you'll see something you need in those cluttered ones. They were all taken with a blackberry, since I don't actually own a camera. |

Op how are you clearing anything at all! Aren't the clip ons supposed to go right under the top plate of the tipple crown? I see everyone else has them like that exempt you. If I moved mine down at all they would hit just about everything

Not to hijack, but these seem like the clip-ons have risers. Woodcraft has a set of clip-ons as well; they also come with 2.5" risers for the clip-on to clear the fairings.

And yes, Driven clip-ons made for the 2008-2012 ninjette have 2.5" risers (IIRC). |

Are you able to have these clip-ons at it's highest mounting (up against the top triple) without interference problems?

I had them lower because I'm fairly tall with a long arm span. So the idea was that the lower the clips ons were the more stretched out I would be, instead of being cramped. Hope this helps! |
