my first time "catching" a lowside

i was making a really slow lefty in front of eternalnewb and noticed a bunch of sand in the road so without thinking my left leg came out... right then i heard the engine rev up real high and the bike shot to the side, handlebars went hard left. well my leg was already there so i just gave it a little push on the ground and a little pull up on the bars (it was falling over from sliding or something) and just a short bit later it caught and bucked me back up a little bit... whew!

Was this on our ride Saturday when I was bringing up the tail? I thought I heard you two mention something about it but I was too far behind to notice.

I thought you may have seen it. Wasn't this at one of the traffic lights?

Nice work! I'm starting to get more comfortable with that on the dirt. I think I'd be comfortable reaching my leg out on the 300; not sure I'd even attempt it on a heavier machine.

Nicely done! This is one reason why my bike is still in the garage. I hate sand.

That, plus the fact that IT EFFIN' SNOWED AGAIN THIS MORNING. $#*(@)@!

But tomorrow is another day...gonna be nice.

At this time of year I find myself automatically scouting for sand patches along my commute route so I don't get caught out.

I think your foot kick made it look less then that you felt. Needed slow motion to see the kick.

I dunno, as startling as it was, be glad your focus was going forward. @EternalNewb and @Yakaru had to react to a giant yellow arrow that almost skewered you from behind!

Man, I knew roads were dangerous but random death arrows is a new one.

Nice save. I think when we go through things like that, it seems more prolonged than it actually is as it triggers "panic/adrenaline mode." When or if you actually get a chance to review it, then it's like, "Oh, that was it?"

I was riding right behind @alex.s, and it looked a lot worse from where I was. There was a minislide, then some back and forth bucking before he leveled it out.

Yeah, my angle really minimized what happened which is why I didn't recall it.

How did you coincide in a same corner with Eternalnewb, that sand and Yakaru?
