2009 Ninja 250 won't run

Hello everyone!

Currently I have had some problems with my ninja 250 and can't seem to figure out why I can't fix it.

THE PROBLEM: Will start with choke on full and run/idle beautifully. However once the throttle is touched the bike will start dying out. If I take the choke off it also dies. I cleaned the carburetor at least 3 times already and it is spotless and I have connected everything back the way it should be. I do not understand why its not running. It ran great a few days ago and now its doing this. PLEASE PLEASE HELP

I also installed new spark plugs and verified I have spark and that fuel is getting to the carbs. Like I said the bike ran beautifully on Sunday and now it doesn't.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post and I hope we can fix this problem together!

It's gunna be something simple.

Spark - check
Gas - cleaned carb, carbs filling up with gas, spark plugs get wet? Is the gas any good? Water get in the tank somehow?
Air - Something build a home in your airbox or snorkel?

Oh! Welcome Matthew!

Did you clean the idle mixture circuit? That would mean you removed the caps covering the idle mixture screws and removed the screws to clean the passages.

If so, you should have the screws set to 2 1/2 turns out for starters.

If not, you need to pull the carbs again and do it.

As Chris noted, check for an obstructed intake snorkel and make sure the gas is completely fresh. You could also crack open the float bowl drains and see what comes out.

Thank you everyone for your help but unfortunately it was something simple I overlooked ...The idle mixture screw was not turned up enough and therefore had a hard time running. I feel like an idiot now

THANK YOU EVERYONE! and sorry for being a noob

We all make n00b mistakes every now and then. You still have a home here if ya need. Let's see a pic of the bike. Is it red?
