Rear brake dragging
When I lift the rear break pedal all the way up the rear brake is still dragging lightly on the disk.
I'm using an aftermarket rear set that is probably contributing to the problem. Is there a way to adjust the rear brake cable so it I can get the pads away from the disk? |

No cable to adjust, it's hydraulic.
Stupid question time, When you say drag, how much? And how do you know it's dragging? Is the pedal putting some pressure on the master cylinder? If not have you serviced your caliper? Grease the slider pins? A caliper and/or slider pins can cause drag if it's been neglected.

Using aftermarket rearsets doesn't change how the rear brake operates when adjusted properly. http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/How_do_...brake_lever%3F
Otherwise, sounds like it's time to clean the caliper.

fwiw you should clean your brakes/grease the slider pins every time you change your pads.

After reading your post and learning that there wasn't a cable adjustment I very carefully readjusted the rear brake lever. (I used a rubber mallet and whacked the rear brake lever up. It ended up moving about quarter to half an inch up.) This fully disengaged the rear brake and the wheel rotates normally now. When it gets warmer and I feel more ambitious I'm going to pull the rearset off and reinstall the OEM one. I feel like the rearset isn't trued up anymore. Thanks for the help all. |
