Lowsided... turn it into a naked bike?
So I lowsided at the track and the entire LHS fairing is gone. I'm making this bike into a dedicated track bike now and I am deliberating between getting race glass or just stripping the fairings off and leaving it at that.
Firstly, would this be acceptable to the track organisers? Also, are there any advantages of having race fairings (other than wind protection which I don't really care too much about)? Do they protect the frame from getting damaged when crashed? |

track day orgs around here typically dont care about fairings or safetywire but race orgs are much more strict about oil and coolant control.

Picking gravel, clods of dirt, twigs, grass, insects and the remains of small furry creatures out of the nooks and crannies of your engine is a pain in the neck.
Draw your own conclusions. You could always Frankenstein your rashed fairing. Drill a line of holes down each side of the cracks and stitch everything together with zip ties. Costs next to nothing and gives you that whole "Road Warrior" vibe. PS: If you're just doing track days, most organizations do no require a bellypan that will catch oil. Check with your org.

Holly cow, I missed that didn't I. For some reason, I got the race org rule vib.
 Yea, stitch it up and roll! Oil tight is a "race" tech rule.
