Lets do something in honor of Ethioknight

You guys were talking about a sticker. Lets do something. Someone please get in touch with the family and know we want to donate to the expenses that are certain to arise after his passing. Lets try and help take care of one of our own...

Ideas and such to honor Alex, lets leave them here. Lets leave condolences and good memories of him in the other thread.

keep the black, change the rest to white or red since he liked that, and we have a sticker for bikes that I will proudly wear.

I think we could ask for donations to buy the sticker, have the maker recover their cost of creating the stickers and send the rest to the family. Pay what you want kind of thing with a minimum of ___ to cover costs?

I agree, Trailerboy

It's just as best as I could do, since I'm no graphic designer, lol.

I have the EPS/SVG files if anyone wants to make it better?

I have the guy who made all of my decals for my bike he could make them but they would have to be single color designs

he has made hundreds of decals for ZX6R forums for the past year

Sean, that was my starting point. Too much detail for as ticker, I was trying to simplify it

I think it needs to be bold and simple for best results. Something that people can either print on black for their pale bikes, or white for their dark bikes.

Here's my go at it. Two different versions, one two color, one a single color with the background filling in the second.

The little bits of color are going to be really hard to cut/weed though.

I'm going to talk to someone about printing #1, I think that one is the most fitting out of all of them, and personally my favorite because it can be printed on vinyl

I propose we make a combined sticker for Alex (@EthioKnight) and Jon (@Broom). Jon may still be alive, but his tragic injuries are still a huge loss for us all. I just don't want people to forget about either of them or never hear about the tragedies that happened before their time here (we have had so many new users since Jon's accident).

Perhaps a "Ninjette.org remembers" design incorporating Jon's racing number and Alex's mohawk. God-willing, we will never have to add anyone, but a "growable" design like that would make it easier to remember more of us if we have any more tragedies (updated piece to add to existing design). We'd have to distinguish the two with an "and" or something so that it will not seem like only one person.

I haven't been a big fan of the mohawk-helmet design alone because I know it isn't unique to him without "Ninjette.org." There are likely many people with that exact same helmet who have a mohawk stuck on and a visible brand name distracts from our intended purpose (seems like an advertisement rather than a memorial). I have no problem with the exact same design being miniaturized and explained with a "Ninjette.org remembers" banner. Without that, I'd prefer the simple date of the accident to make it clear that it's not a "cool helmet" ad. Perhaps the brand on the helmet can be replaced with "Alex," the date of the accident, the date of his death, or a reference to Ninjette so that others know it's a particular rider.

There's a website called custom sticker maker. Com . About $1.05 per sticker, give or take depending on size. They can also quote you on it, email the design and ask.

Vinyl printers will want them as vector images for scaling if you want a quality sticker

Ive had a few printed with just a png file and they came out very very well, I think we should be ok on that front, we just need to pick a design

I'm thinking cost will be $2-3 a sticker depending on the size

They do not scale well though. You can't make small and large versions on the fly easily. You know: a helmet one, a fairing one, one for the car window, etc.

How big are we thinking though? the one that @flynjay made is a pretty large image that can be shrunk down to any size...

@flynjay, unless you can make a vector of the one with the red mohawk and the black helmet

I just emailed the guy ive done business with in the past and I will let you guys know what he says

Well, I've seen similar projects where you could pick your size and I thought we might have something similar so that we can choose based on where we plan to display it.

Here is the full size image... I'm not sure if anyone wants any size beyond this one. Its 3.2" x 3.8", would anyone want a bigger sticker then that?

2 more variants, #1 is a 3 color print so you could put it on a black bike (the black background wouldnt be printed, its just to give an idea how it would look like on a black bike) #2 is only 2 colors, red and black, the green again is only to represent it being on a green bike

Would they need a clear backing to apply? If that's not possible, it might be possible to stylishly link the helmet design details in the to make it apply without being part of a clear vinyl sheet. We could obsfucate/obscure the two "KBC" parts while we're at it or replace one with "Ninjette" (script-like letters are linked in the current Ninjette.org vinyl design) and the other with a stylized "Alex."

+1 I hate stickers, I would still put one on my bike for this cause but I just cant stand the way they look. Thats why I prefer vinyl and why I have only vinyl cuts on my bike lol

...please forgive me for getting into this thread late. If there is anyone who's taking responsibility for the production of the stickers they might contact me. I'm a printer and can probably get these done very very inexpensively. I'd have access to many manufacturers at wholesale and understand the tech details of producing weather resistant materials...adhesives, coatings, substrates, inks etc etc.
