It's a Koala!!!!

Hey there, most of you know me by now, I'm Koala

My goal over the last year has been to save up the money to do a MSF class through State 8 Motorcycles and get my own bike by 2017 bike season.

I was looking at getting the Kawasaki Ninja KRT Edition with ABS but this lil gal has been sitting in the window at the dealer since I took this picture in April of 2015....if she's still there when I go back to buy I will take her home instead. I work in the area she's in and everytime I pass by and see her I hear this in my head...

how much is that ninja in the window (vroom vroom), the one with the kawi green tail?

(sorry if the pic is huge and sideways, didn't know how to fix it)

Pretty bike! ABS is certainly a good thing to have, I've met people who swear by it, but sometimes that's not the bike that calls to you....

So you've done the class now? I know I learned a TON when I took the class here.

Cool another Ohioan. I am surprised that Ninja didn't sell being a 2015. Good luck on snatching it up. I saw mine in October of 2015 and snatched it up in April of 2016.(White)

The KRT is also sweet and they ran it again for 2017. Good luck on your MSF BRC class if you haven't done it already.

I'm crossing my fingers she's still there, as of now they have two of them, which I thought was a mistake at first but there are two different stock numbers.

Just hang them up by the rear tire. I do that with bicycles in the garage, works great. Just need some bigger hooks for the motorcycles. (and bigger muscles to lift them up)

And Welcome @Koala

I can just imagine myself dropping it on my head lol....I'm not even sure the crappy walls in this apartment could support the weight...I'll just stick to the idea of parking it in my spare bedroom.

I find it crazy how the costs for the MSF courses vary greatly between states.
It's hundreds of dollars in some states and free in others.
Why is that?

I don't know why. It's around $200 here. My daughter did very well both days, but got nervous and went outside a line during the final test, which automatically failed her. The response from the instructors was "sign up and take it again". Sure, a recent college grad with an entry level job can keep on trying at $200 a pop. She took the free skills test with the NC DMV and passed it, got licensed, and we've been riding together ever since. She has good things to say about the course, but I think they should at least make it financially feasible to repeat all or part of the course in a case like that.

Wow that's crazy! Here, it's $20 to register and then you get it refunded if you complete the course (don't think it matters if you pass or fail, as long as you complete it) so it's basically free! If you "walk in" without registering and there's room in the course, you don't have to pay at all.

It's $150 for the course at most of the community colleges, $300+ at the private places except for the Harley courses which I think are $450 (but free if you are military or a veteran).

Pay the full fee if you fail.

In Ohio it's $50 through the state but the waiting lists are outrageous. The big dealers offer it for around $300. I'll be taking mine through State 8. They offer the regular class and an extended class that gives you more ride time.
