NEW TRACK coming in Massachusetts

Looks like Palmer is going to be REAL. I was waiting to see actual pavement before I'd believe it, but now it's happened!

Don't know if they're going to have motorcycles in 2015, but Tony's Track Days is working with them to make it possible.

It's been paved and here's video of the first laps. Looks AWESOME but those rock walls are scary. Here's hoping they get proper barriers in place.

Link to original page on YouTube.

The bizarre thing about this video is that I know the guy on screen. I lost track of him years ago. I used to do time trials, back in the 1990s, and it was with him. I even drove a Spec Racer one day, and it may well have been one of the cars he's electrified. I have a picture around here somewhere.... need to scan it

Nice! That downhill section into a straight is gunna be fast. Now... the question, how are they gunna address the runoff needed when it looks to a significant grade change near the edge of the track?

This came up at TTD last week and he posted this elsewhere:

Actually, I said it is my "guess" that bikes won't be allowed in 2015. I have no info from the owner himself on this. Naturally, we are working on things.

The anti track people are using anything possible to fight the track, and somewhere in the early plans (10 years ago?) it says No Motorcycles.

Anyway, we just got a new track this year with Thompson - and we'll likely have one with Tamworth in 2015. There are plenty of options while the Palmer track gets things sorted out.

I do ultimately believe bikes will be allowed... as soon as the anti track people realize their world is not going to collapse now that the track is built and running.

He said this about runoff elsewhere:
Having gone through this with several tracks over the years, I have come to realize that video does not accurately reflect runoff.

I would hold judgment until riding it in person.

I don't ever complain about nuttin', my runoff question is mainly based on the fundamental estimate of how much work was left to get the track finished.
