Bent Forks?

Hi, I noticed my 2006 Ninja 250's left handle bar touches the tank when I put it all the way left, but doesn't when pushing it right. This leads me to my next problem. When only having one hand on the handle bars, and no acceleration, the front wheel begins to rapidly wobble.

It does get a little scary at higher speed, and want to see if this can be fixed easily to minimize my risk. From what I can tell, accelerating while having one hand on the handles doesn't cause it to wobble, but when giving it little to no acceleration it begins to wobble.

The bike had been dropped on both sides by the prior owner (left side looks like it was a much worse drop) so I'm sure this is why. What can I look for to fix it?

are you talking about letting off the throttle but not pullling the clutch

or

letting go of the clutch when the revs are too low.

There was just a thread about straightening the front forks in one of the @#%$@#R^@#$% crashed threads. I will see if I can find it. In the mean time, have a look around in there to check them out and straighten them. Other things to look for are the brake pads dragging, warped rotor (which is what it sounds like) or bent rim. And most likely a bent clip-on.

I'm talking, I'm driving at (lets say) 9k RPM and I close the throttle to anywhere between 0 and (1/8th?), just giving it a bit of throttle or closing it to coast to the stop sign or whatever, and if I only have my right hand on the handles and left hand off, the front wheel begins to rapidly wobble left and right. The only way to straighten it out is to put two hands on it and accelerate.

Red neck bent wheel test kit;

1 blue or red milk crate
1 bic pen or #2 pencil or a short pry bar otherwise know as a screwdriver

Instructions;

Lift front wheel by hanging it from tree branch/garage joist or... I guess stands will work too.
Place milk crate upside down beside front wheel
Place bic pen on crate about 1/16th inch from rim lip
Use hand to spin wheel
Watch for wheel to move in/out from pen

Wheel is bent if rim touches pen

You can do the same to test the rotor!
