Throttle cable handlebar re-assembly help needed!

To start off, I did some searching on here, on Google, and looked through the manual before posting (nobody likes someone that asks a forum a question they could have googled).
Wrecked my bike about a month ago and the throttle was stuck wide open, I could turn it with great effort to close it. Took it apart the right side handlebar switch and plastic bits fell out. Ordered new throttle grip and the whole little assembly. I'm trying to get both cables in place to screw the box back together but can't find where one of them goes. One has the curved guide and sits perfectly in one half of the box, but where does the other one go through? Some pictures would be helpful or a video. So far no pictures show the placement of everything as you're about to screw it all together.

Thanks in advance for the help

Oh man, I can honestly say the throttle cable was the biggest pain in the ass so far. I ended up just using the pull cable and tossing the push cable. Just make sure you connect it in the right direction so you don't end up with the throttle tube pulling away from you instead of toward you.

Are there any downsides to removing the push cable? Is the push cable the one with the curved guide or the mystery placement one?

Use the curved guide one and throw the other cable in your spare parts box. It's been a while since I put that back together, but the curved guide fits into the the housing. When you connect the cable, test it to make sure the throttle tube pulls in the correct direction before putting the housing together. I made that mistake.

So far, I don't find any disadvantage of getting rid of the extra cable. I read on this forum that the extra cable is a factory back-up incase the throttle gets stuck open (which in theory, shouldn't happen if your carbs are kept clean) and some of the more advanced members have removed it altogether.

I'll suggest if deciding to delete the push cable....

Be absolutely sure that cable routing is correct, the throttle tube and its mating handlebar surface are devoid of goop, lightly lubed (not a thick grease!) and full motion of the carb linkage is unimpeded.

Assure the throttle aggressively snaps back with handlebars fully turned lock to lock, left and right. Any less is unacceptable in this instance.
