what exactly is it doing when you try to start it? That'll help us diagnose the problem a little better.

Exclamation

I don't touch the idle. Because that's at around 1300 to 1500! I'm just confused to know how long do I let the choke on and when I should play around with it. Sorry for the neebie questions. I just don't want to mess my bike up.

Oh lol sorry. I figured there was something wrong while you tried starting it. That link should answer your questions then. Very helpful

When I start the bike with full choke it goes to about 5k is that normal the bike is rejetted with jardine full exhuast. And when I rev the bike in nutreul it sometimes hesitates to go higher ! Any idea what could be the cause?

Put choke on full, start the bike
revs are going to start to climb. once they are at or over 3k start turning the choke off slowly (millimeters at at time). revs will drop then start climbing again, repeat until choke is off.

If the bike is cold it will hesitate when you rev it.

If the idle is set to 1500 and it goes up to 5000 with the choke on then I think it's because the bike is warm enough to not need the choke or as much choke.

When does the bike die? When you apply throttle?

This is my start procedure right here, except that my bike does not hesitate when cold. It will rev to 5k or 6k at the very beginning. This is normal. If you have the choke on and the engine bogs on take off, it is time to turn the choke completely off.

How long had the bike been sitting before you bought it? It's starting to sound like gummed up carbs.

Did you follow the procedure? Please give more information in order to get an informative answer. The bike takes a bit of time to warm up. It is a cold blooded bike.

Here's my startup procedure. I put on about half choke and start the bike. Once the bike is running I add or subtract choke to get the bike to 3k rpm's. If at any point durring the warm up the engine speed goes above 3k, remove a little choke to get it back to 3k. Wait about 30 seconds then rev the engine (about a quarter twist on the throttle). If the engine bogs I wait another 30 seconds and repeat until it doesn't bog. Once the throttle response is right (meaning the engine doesn't bog) , I take off with the choke still on. At stop signs and red lights I check the engine speed and temp. Over 3k remove a little choke. Once the engine temp reaches the first line above the cold line ( or maybe just passed it ) turn the choke off. If you can't run with out choke, you have a problem.

NOTE: My bike is an 07 so a little different. Still worth a try.

I live in Philly. PM me if you want me to come by.
