Lets do this!

Hey all,
Just bought a '94 EX250, and absolutely love it. I'm here to learn about how to take care of it and work on fixing parts. Right now I need to replace the brakes (looking for the right pads), change the brake fluid (any suggestions on brand/type?), and clean and lube the chain (possibly readjust it too). It has 15K miles on it and no noticeable scratches.

Aloha and welcome, Dan.

Make sure all the maintenance has been done on a 15K schedule.

I like Valvoline brake fluid for street use.

Out of curiosity, any idea how much the 15k maintenance will cost?
Thanks!

Dan,

I have no idea on cost, but here's a schedule for pregens...
http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/Service_Schedule

biggest/costliest item would be valve inspection/adjustment. if you're handy, most of the other items on the schedule seem easy enough to do for a DIY type person.

if your bike is still on the original tires, I would highly recommend you change them to a stickier compound than what came stock on those bikes.
