Trail Tech Vapor Review
I thought I would give a review on the Trail Tech Vapor Speedometer that I purchased and installed on my 99 ninja 250. When I decided to tinker on the bike and go full force street fighter/cafe I was not sure as to what route I wanted to take with the speedometer. After a lot of research and some post reading I finally landed on the Vapor. Many reasons made me decide and the biggest being the ease of installation. After reading ChicagoBob, Skilletmo, and the Faq.ninja250.org threads I was sure that was the one for me. I ordered it off of Ebay as it cost me around 95$ which was a nice savings. Trail Techs customer service is good and they answer the questions you have as long as you know what you need. The kit only has four wires that need hooked up and at first I thought it was a huge and scary task. Some research landed me on Skilletmo's thread and it was a blessing as he did a nice write up. It took me way longer then most people but after it was all hooked up I fell in love. So many nice features: Coolant Temp reading, Outdoor Temp, Clock Time, Stopwatch, Record High MPH, riding time, Shift lights, digital and bar RPMS. All of this was icing on the cake as it is so much better then stock. My mph are accurate and it is just a very nice and well made speedometer. The only thing you have to do is be creative with the mounting.
I mounted mine like this as it was simple and cheap and works well for my needs. This may not be the best review as I know it is not crazy detailed but anyone thinking of upgrading the speedometer on a Ninja 250 of any year I highly suggest this. If you have any questions feel free to ask me. |
