Are newgen front/back pass the same?
I want to get EBC Kawasaki Ninja 250R (2008 to 2012) EBC Front Brake Pads and Rear Brake Pads (FA197HH)
I've called my local dealer and they have sets, but they don't state weather they are for front or rear. Are the pads on the front identical to the pads on the rear? Thanks guys |

Yep, they are the same. Just be aware that the rear will lock up easy.

I say that as a precautionary measure for newish riders who are not quite seasoned or familiar with the braking capabilities of their bikes.

The rear always does, due to the weight distribution of the bike, one must remember that the front does most if not all the stopping in a panic stop especially. The front does about 90% of the stopping power.
Something else to keep in mind is the calipers, they need to be serviced with every pad change, to ensure optimal performance, I personally recommend it. Here is my how-to guide. Quote:

The sintered pads have a better initial bite and some additional increased stopping capabilities vs the stock pads. Depending on the rider, it make take some time to get used to the differences in feel. And since the rear is fairly easy enough to lock with the stock pads..... well you know.
Is it common?

I get both sintered since I usually get decent deals buying as a set. Plus being the cheap bastard that I am, I just swap the rears to front and the fronts to rear. I usually advise riders to go organic in the rear since it takes more effort to get it to bite but at the loss of life span due to softer compounds. Why?
Riders who have not developed the muscle memory for emergency braking or proper braking techniques subconsciously mash or grab too much brake without even knowing, thus, making a preventable incident occur.
