Looks tidy enough, look at the owner, you can tell a lot about how it was treated by how the previous owner looks. Profiling works well, that's why the CIA use it
You look quite petite, so have a sit down on it, see if you can comfortably hold it up and take it for a ride to see how it fits you. I'd say stick with the ninja but if you have your heart set on it, go for it! |

Paint
Look at all that paint...what's he hiding under it!
I have no idea what I'm talking about. One thing though is, you may not know this, depending on what you ride/know, but a lot of those dual-headlight bikes aren't "true" dual headlights (the use of true is my opinionated definition of true) so the lowbeams are, the loathed it, one of them (i think the right side, as you're sittin' on it). Know this. |

I like the dual headlight one high/one low look! They look sick with one bi-xenon projector on the low side for low/high and a 100W Halogen in the high beam. Very transformer looking and very good light output that is still "legal" enough not to raise questions (separate high and low beam)
But OP, I like that era of bike, but that paint/sticker scheme is not my favorite. Too often, stickers are slapped on to cover scratches. On top of that, I think logo stickers just scream, "racer boy! Pull me over!" Other than that, 26-27k on the bike is nothing. Do the basics; check title/receipts for maintenance/sprockets/tires/chain/signs of abuse, take a test ride etc. In my mind, no test ride = no sale. You learn a lot about a bike by taking it for a spin. Those are great bikes, if you like it, go for it! |

The 'Sticker' look isnt really sticker its a fairing set. He had the originals as well and the originals had no scratches at all or signs of drops. Neither did the current ones on it. But for sure will take a test ride. Around how many miles could you put on this bike no worries?

My buddy with a '97 CBR600 is nearing 50,000. He's had to replace the cam chain, but the PO's of his bike dropped it and bashed on it, so I'm not really sure how relevant that is as an example. That's my only experience with honda motorcycle engines.

kaes, i will send my mechanic with you and he will be able to tell if it is go or no go...
i am not into garish fairings but if he has the oem fairing, put them on...that looks like a very good deal with all the add-ons... as long as you can handle the bike... i have an 07 with 31k miles and it runs as strong as when i first got it...dew eet!... |

Some guy on youtube has a video with his cbr f4i with 200k miles. It's a honda, 26k is nothing. I almost purchased a cbr with around 19k miles, as long as it's maintained i wouldn't even think about it.

I doubt it. I really doubt it.
but seeing as the rumors about the 300 and the new CBR500 are way more true than I ever thought they would be, I guess I'll believe it when I see it. |

Bullet proof! Actually, the rumor is if Obama is re-elected he will put a ban on bikes bigger than 500cc's. Bikes will also have to get 200MPG. There will be black boxes (like there are on cars now that track your driving style and distance). The governement is going to start taxing vehicles by the miles driven (or ridden).
