****ing Pig

Ok, this is super bullshit, how does the cop possibly think this is a good idea?

Link to original page on YouTube.

So this is the chain of events that this guy went through.

3/5/2010: Pulled over for speeding

4/7/2010: 6 Cops show up at my house with a search and seizure warrant for all of my computers, cameras and electronics.. They also bring an arrest warrant for "wiretapping" and 2 additional traffic violations. I could not go to jail due to health issues (surgery).

4/14/2010: I turned myself in and spent the night in jail. I was charged with "wiretapping." Felony- 5years $10k max fine. Bail set at $15k?

4/15/2010: Bail review - Released on my own recognizance.

This makes me so pissed off, what would you have done? I probably would have ran if I saw some dude pull a gun like that. I'm sorry, **** that cop

Yah, that's been out for a bit actually. A higher court ruled in the guys favor later on from what I heard. I agree, that if I were carrying I would be drawing on the guy and demanding he prove he was a cop. Some plain clothes guy jumps out of a civilian car holding a gun with no badge visible? That is why they are so hard up on getting his proof that the cop ****ed up. They know they did wrong and are trying to cover their asses.

EDIT: Oh you can finally see the badge at the very end AFTER he puts his gun away. He is supposed to show badge first gun ONLY if needed. So I stand with that he screwed up, they know he screwed up and are trying to cover his ass.

Think this is like the 2nd or 3rd repost but yeah, it's pretty ****ed up. I would definitely have run too if I saw a guy coming at me with a gun.

Ah, there is the marked car behind him @3:35. He should have let the uniform cop take lead on this.

Outcome

On September 27, 2010, criminal charges against Graber were dropped.[5] Harford County Circuit Court Judge Emory A Plitt Jr. dismissed four of the seven charges filed against Anthony Graber, leaving only traffic code violations. The judge ruled that Maryland's wire tap law allows recording of both voice and sound in areas where privacy cannot be expected and that a police officer on a traffic stop has no expectation of privacy.[5]

Those of us who are public officials and are entrusted with the power of the state are ultimately accountable to the public. When we exercise that power in public fora, we should not expect our actions to be shielded from public observation.

— Judge Emory A. Plitt, Jr., Maryland v. Graber

The court also threw out the charge of "recording illegal activity" on the grounds that the law was unconstitutional, noting that "the video taping of public events is protected under the First Amendment."[5]

Cops seem to be taking their authority a bit too far these days, and are letting their tempers make their judgement calls for them. He had NO reason to have his weapon drawn other than to prove what a badass he thinks he is. He'd have done a lot better to brandish his badge, so he would have at least been identified as a police officer instead of some loon with a gun. Too bad he didn't draw on another undercover cop and get his knee blown off.

"i shot a guy in the back and paralyzed him for life simply for turning his head... i hope i didn't do anything wrong!"

they should require IQ tests for anyone wielding a gun

@Kevin2109: Those videos made me feel pretty angry. Especially that final quote from the cop that he hoped he didn't do anything wrong. He drew a gun on an unarmed man sitting on his bike, fired a shot through his spine and paralysed him for life. How was he not sure if he didn't do anything wrong or not? The only thing I wish on that police officer is that he grows a conscience: that way he can spend the rest of his life feeling the horrible guilt that I would feel had I done that to another human.

And police are wondering why officer fatalities are skyrocketing. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/s...ryId=144367829

My personal experiences lead me to have zero sympathy. BTW, my best friend for the last 30 years is a cop.

Here's the little mental exercise I go through before dealing with any type of law enforcement personel:

1. Remember High School.

2. Remember the guys who became cops right after High School.

3. Remember what those guys were like in High School.

4. Realize that they weren't the smartest guys you knew and that they tended to have serious authority/power/control issues related to their childhood schoolyard experiences. These items, coupled with a dangerous, easily damaged caveman-type ego equals DANGER for me (and you, and any other citizen).

That said, when I do find myself having to talk to a law enforcement officer and I find him to be both intelligent and reasonable I always ask if he got into law enforcement right after High School (just to test my hypothesis). I've found that the best of the cops out there usually came to the job after doing something else for a while, like serving in the military.

Greg that's an interesting way of looking at it. Interesting hypothesis as well. Thanks for sharing; it made me think a bit

From my limited experiences with the law, the cops I've talked to all are professional and courteous, but I can also see that so many are power crazy and go to great lengths to establish authority

Unfortunately crap like that gives Law Enforcement a bad rep.

Sh!t like this sickens me as an LEO. Unfortunately majority of the time this type of crap is what makes the news.

There are bad apples in LE and incidents like this tend to weed them out.

@greg737
I worked as a mechanic during highschool then went full time for 2.5 years after graduating then went active duty in the USAF for 6 years before becoming an LEO.

You do have valid points though. I have ran into it as well then normally inform these officers to remove their head from their @ss

So his violation was the speed, or wheelie? How fast was he going?

Two type of vids that really pisses me off are punks beating up on the elderly or gang up on a guy and cops who have authority issues and pulls shiet like this.

I used to be that guy who defended cops left & right until I experienced harassment & profiling. I had guns drawn on me like that guy in the vid the moment the cop came out of his vehicle because I was traveling too slow and my movements made him nervous (um, just sitting here) and had cops try to entrap me. No more will I defend cops, and I don't care who you are because when it comes down to it...you are and do power trip.
