Bar end mirrors?

So I got tired of seeing my elbows from my side mirrors and thought of bar end mirrors. So i bought a pair and installed. It just doesnt work with my ninjette! perhaps its the geometry of the bike but i find it so unsafe to use.

what's your take?

If you go fast enough you don't need to know what's behind you.

LOL.

I did this once, and I ended up going past a state trooper going 95 on my 250.00 So I was going 40 over the speed limit. Not a nice ticket to get.

I believe the trooper must have been in front of you for you to pass him. Eyes wide open! Any ticket sucks. It's not the ticket, it's the points and insurance surcharge.

The funny thing is, He asked me what size the bike was, I told him 250. He said no way a 250 ant go that fast. I told him you are giving me ticket going 40 over and I am on a 250. He laughed and wrote the ticket for only 10 over and said be careful.

Something verrrry similar happened to me while i was doing about 98 in a 60zone, apparently the guy was behind me for half a mile (lol) and i never even noticed him. This was at around 3am. After i stopped and took off helmet/keys/ect he began to give me the usual talk. Around 40seconds into his talk 4 more cars roll up, all with the driver side window down and 1 arm hangin out the window. Was one of the funniest things ive ever seen. Apparently he thought i was purposely running from him.

He also asked me wut size the bike was and laughed when i said 250 (he rides gsxr1k's and zx1k's) and couldnt believe i was going that fast. After a chill talk i got off scott free. Just gave me a verbal warning to be careful while i was putting my helmet on.

I have learned to be much more vigilant since then

I love my CRG's - Blindside is a bit small, Hindsight is pretty good at 3".

You mean it feels dangerous having to look down so far to the bar ends? I got used to it... It's either that or look at my elbows...

I've heard ZX14 mirrors are wider and a better fit, but kinda give your bike dumbo ears...

Also, keep in mind the controls on the 250 have threads for handlebar mounted mirrors - but you'd probably have bend a rod something to fit in there...

Yeah I agree with the whiskey philosophy.

If you're buzzing along 20+ over the limit, you can be damn sure that no police are going to creep up behind you. As long as you keep your eyes ahead to watch for radar and undercover officers, you're golden.

In other news I thought the mirrors were just on the bikes so you can get anxious when you come to a stop and have to watch the SUV behind you coming up on your ass, while wondering if he sees you and if he will indeed stop before bulldozing you into the middle of the intersection.
