His bike is running again! He says it just bogs/stutters/dies out at higher rpms.

Thanks to this guy right here! It's also having a really low idle, but as long as it's running I'm a LOT happier than before

Np Brad, glad to help out.

For your low idle... See that black knob (multiple point star shaped)? You turn that to adjust idle speed. If memory serves me right and the vodka hasn't blurred it to much, turn it toward the front of the bike raises idle, to the rear lowers it.

Unfortunately, it's been one headache after another. (sorry to sound like a whiny douche ) I just found out my car went up - I want to say it's an alternator but I'm just gonna send it back to the same mechanic that gave my bike back to me with a lack of hooked-up tubes.

As far as my bike, with Csmith's help, it was hooked up correctly. And when I went to turn up the idle level, it did nothing. After closer inspection, I found out it wasn't connected to anything. (yup). I called a buddy of mine, who showed me how to hook it up, and how it worked. He then told me that it "usually has a spring in it" - turns out, Ninja 250's are supposed to.

After all that, he took it for a ride. He had mentioned afterwards that it felt like it had a vacuum leak somewhere, and that he didn't know how to fix it.

At the end of the day - it runs. Sluggishly. I'm hoping to just drop it at a actual motorcycle mechanic sometime soon.

Perhaps drop isn't the word I'm looking for after a day like today.

You can check for vacuum leaks by using carburetor cleaner. Start the engine and spray it on all the fittings and rubber hoses and see if the RPMS rise.

I never even thought of that. Hopefully I can get to it this weekend. ^_^
