Pre-Gen AreaP or Danmoto slip-on for 2010 ninja

Hey guys, i have an opportunity to get a pre-gen ApeaP 18" Stainless Steel muffler only that is a little dinged up for about the same price as a new Danmoto GP slip-on.

I can't decide witch one I want. I was wondering if the headers on the 2010 are the same size as the pre-gen ninja's so that the old AreaP slip on will fit the new gen headers. I had called up AreaP and just the headers alone are very expensive so for now i'm not going to spend extra $300 on just the headers. I'd rather buy a new set of pirelli diablo rosso II.

I know that the slip-on alone will not give any performance upgrades, so for now I have shimmed my cabs with 2 washers and removed the snorkel.

In the future I do want to get a full exhaust setup so I was thinking of just buying the Tyga headers http://tyga-performance.com/site/pro...oducts_id=1781 and using them with either the Danmoto GP or the old AreaP

I know a lot of people dislike the Danmoto due to it being too loud, I my self don't mind the loudness as i usually don't ever go past 6K RPM when i'm on the street. I will usually shift at 5K because the bike actually has power in the low end after shimming the needles and removing the snorkel, but will the Danmoto with aftermarket headers would just be ridiculously loud where it would be same as riding the bike with no exhaust on?

Area P made full systems for the pregen. Also, a pregen full system will not work on an 08-12 bike.

Yeah I figured the full system would not work but what about just the muffler though? AreaP pre-gen muffler on stock new-gen headers? Is that even possible w/out welding the two together?

Darn. I guess no Areap for me then just curious, does full system like Tyga really make that much of a difference? The claimed 4.2hp increase on our little tiny bikes, is it really worth it? I mean, can you really FEEL the difference in power?

Yes. A slip-on does virtually nothing performance-wise. The full system does make a noticeable difference. It won't be a rocket ship because it's a 250, but it will respond quicker and have a little more power.

You sure chone? I would think the Area-p can could be mounted up on any headers/midpipe with the right adapter, mounted up with good clearance and tuned as needed. I am thinking it would take some fab work but possible. You know more about tuning than I do, am I missing something?

On the full system, chone is right. You WILL feel it if it's tuned well. Is it really worth it? That would be up to you. I just paid 6 hundo for that feeling and I think it was worth every penny.

I mean anything can be done. If you really want the Area P can, go for it. You'd have to make that mid-pipe yourself to connect the can with the end of the headers.

In the end, it would likely be cheaper to just get the Area P system for cheap, sell it on here to someone who wants it, then buy a slip-on for a newgen.

More info for you guys...

I just happen to have both exhausts just sitting around. hahahahah Here is what your up against.

So yea, I am with chone on this. Pipe size differences, angle differences, mounting differences. You would have to cut the stock headers to get the length right and fab a midpipe with the proper angles to get everything to clear moving parts. I would guess it would be cheaper to just buy the proper header from Area-p at that point.

The muffler that i was thinking of getting does not have the mid-pipe. This is the attached picture of it. i was just thinking of sliding it over the end of the mid-pipe on the stock exhaust w/out welding an adapter or something to it.
