Dropbox's mobile app doesn't work right when copying public links for images. I could only post a link and seeing as how my pic shows I'm clearly not at home I wasn't exactly in a position to hop my my PC and post the actual image.

Your join date has much relevance as my post count so when you figure it out why you bothered calling mine out you'll let me know.

Feel free to dig back through this entire thread and I'm sure you'll find a handful "wins" by me with an updated date on that post a short while after the initial post. This would be because I post my picture through Dropbox (which, again, has its aforementioned limits on my mobile phone) and then come home and fix the actual post to display the image directly. Amazing how I've done his a handful of times prior with no one ever having an issue.

And please show where I am "claiming victory" when my initial response stated: "Let me know if this counts... couldn't exactly hold the phone in true selfie fashion and actually get my bike in the shot." Doesn't exactly scream of resounding victory, does it?

Posting does not necessarily mean embedding. Heck, a lot of forums don't even support embedding.

Huh? No. I was saying that a link to an image is still "posted" even if it isn't visible in the post.

"Embed" is not meant to imply that you upload the image here. When I embed a youtube video as opposed to linking to it, I am not uploading it to Ninjette.

I think that limiting the way a challenge is accomplished limits who can participate and thats not cool guys. If its your original picture, taken for the challenge, and is in anyway accessible from your submission post, it should count. Just my opinion though, ya know?

What? We had to play games like this with links to pictures on Anandtech for over a decade because they used FuseTalk with no embedded images supported. Uploaded on or off-site, it didn't matter because you could not embed them in the post either way. Just because we can doesn't mean we have to.

It was a link to an image that was posted via a mobile device and fixed shortly afterwards to embed the image. We can all click on the link to see that the picture met the requirements. I 've tried posting things here via my cell and had problems getting the link or the coding or whatever to work correctly. It happens.

I would agree if the format was something we cannot see or if the "problem" wasn't fixed in a reasonable time so everyone could see the image.

Let it go, please, and let's move on?
