To the guys with blue ninjas

What have you done to make the bike look better color wise?

I am thinking about adding white or gray or black striped patterns down the side because I have too much blue going on. Seat cowl/hugger/rim tape.

Should I use vinyl on it?

Candy Plasma Blue is the fastest color and needs absolutely nothing to make it look better.

Put the vinyl down, polish your bike and revel in its awesomeness.

I can't agree more. Rims tripes IMO are ugly and just look tacky. Candy Plasma Blue is such an awesome color.

@xSean13 How did you plastidip like that? Whenever I tried taping off to plastidip, the tape would pull it off.

Yes. Well, I sold it, but it was mine.

Yeah in order to do it like that, instead of the traditional method of doing each coat then letting it dry, you have to spray on half, wait maybe 5 minutes, then spray on the 2nd half and carefully peel the tape up while it's still wet.

If you happen to accidentally smudge it with your finger or some of the tape, then I found that you can spray some on the smudge and it will still look fine.

I also found electrical tape to work better than painter's tape since you can use one long piece and go around curves if needed.

I don't like the balance of blue/black/white on the 2008, but adding white doesn't compare to adding more blue.

Blue undertail, blue hugger, blue solo seat cowl, blue bar ends, blue PC rims, blue pegs, blue fairing bolts, blue, blue, blue, blue, blue... *swoon*

A solid color almost always looks better than any sort of stripes or graphics, IMHO.

This is my pregen color scheme and at risk of starting a flamewar I think it's the best. But I don't think it would translate to the ant style shape of the newer models

It's very nice, but that graphic design was always supposed to blend with the seat. You really need a blue seat cover! Unfortunately, the AS Blue from CustomSeatCreations is blotchy (you can see the black in it).

That design does look awesome though. Only thing I'd do is switch to sportier mirrors, black out the frame hardware (footrest, frame cap, etc), eliminate the fender, and cover the seat.

I wanted to make mine more visible at night so I got creative with reflective tape I bought at a hardware store. Let's see if I can put up the pics. Haven't done this in a while.

I think Kawasaki was ahead of you ( or way behind maybe)

this was what they did in 2004...

plus you want it to look better... an "easy on the eyes" girl will make it look good.

That color scheme is sweet!

It's funny, when I went to buy my bike I really wanted a new gen because I thought it looked so much better. But now I've started to appreciate the old fashioned 80's style of the pre gen. Think I could rock either one and be happy.

I'd own any paint color but blue. I just don't like it on vehicles. But I like the plasti-dip scheme. Taking out one huge chunk will look better and be simpler and easier than a ton of little accents.
