damdamdam

I TOTALLY forgot to break in the countersteering on my GSXR when I rode it home in blowing snow last weekend.

I would have bounced it off the rev limiter to break that in, but I would have been going like Warp 4 on residential streets belonging to the mob and in New Jersey they shoot you for doing things like that, youknowwhatImsayin?

Am I screwed?

Thanks.

This.

I'm using this for my brand-new GSXR (which happens to be my first brand-new bike):

http://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/NewBike.html

The key part is that first 50 miles. I followed the procedure as closely as I could for my ride home from the dealer, which was long enough to put me in the ballpark... about 80 miles.

When I drained the crankcase clouds of what must be metal particles were clearly visible in the oil. I'm a believer now... waiting for the 600-mile service for your first change is nuts.

But then, we ARE talking about Jiggles here...

Good man Andrew. Oil changes are uber important for a new engine. Use good old cheap conventional oil, and change it often in a new engine.

Jiggles, You should never change the oil on the 300. Let's see how long that engine will last.

If history holds true you won't have to worry about the engine dying because you will total the bike before the engine has problems.

i usually change new bikes oil at 200 miles with non-synthetic, then start to slowly beat on it depending on how much i spent on it

This hahaha

I still have an oil filter for the n1k I wonder if it'll fit the 300

Poor man's ABS. They bed in and get a bit better, but you'll want to change at least the fronts out for HH pads pretty quick. They take the same type as the 250's, so all of those old wiki articles still stand. I have the EBC FA197HH in front now, and after a little worry about bedding even them in, the performance is fine.

If I had a 300, I'd go the SS lines, HH pads, and maybe Brembo MC route.

Very cute, I liked the video except for the 'do illegal ****' part -- I realize it's a bit different but my 250 was ruined by an illegal left hand over double yellows so consider yourself chastised!
