Smile clamp around airbox to carbs

hey there im missing one of the spring clamps that go around the air box boot to the carbs

will that make a difference in performance and what will I notice...

It could possibly leak a bit, you can throw a zip tie around it till you get something more permanent.

It could end up giving you some inconsistent fueling issues, or it could have no effect. You can check to see if it's a problem by spraying carb cleaner around the boot while the motorcycle is warmed up and idling. If the idle changes, you have a leak. (Wipe the carb cleaner residue off after you're done -- over time it can degrade some kinds of rubber).

Either way, the easiest thing to do is to go to the hardware store and get a screw-type clamp (like the ones that go on the engine/airbox boots) and use that in the place of the missing spring.

I would definitely do something. Order the OEM clamp and find something to snug it down with temporarily - even a zip tie is better than nothing.

You won't get a vacuum leak because it's on the back side of the carb, but you could draw-in unfiltered air.
