2011 250 oil and temp light
hello everyone im new here. im seeking some information on my bike; just yesterday i noticed when i start up the bike the oil light and temp light stay on for a few seconds then turn off. ive had my bike for almost 2 years now. i do all my own maintainence on it so i know whats going on with my bike. ive checked my oil level and my coolant level and everything is fine. im curious as to whats happening. i couldnt find anyone else with the same problem.

That's not unusual.
It takes time for the oil to get up to pressure and turn the switch (light) off. If it bothers you, just leave the choke off and crank it a few seconds before setting the choke and starting it up - but I don't think you need to be that concerned. If it were to stay on after that, or come on any time the engine is running (other than immediate start-up), it would be a concern. One item you can check, that's often overlooked, when you change the oil is the condition of the oil screen - https://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/Checking_the_oil_screen. Welcome! |
