A lot of firsts...

Hi guys, as some of you know, I attended my first track school yesterday... Which unfortunately led to my first low side, at least at the track... Which led to my first fracture, ever! no pics/video of the crash, but it wasn't my bike, it was the schools rental...

Not the bike I was riding, but it was exactly like this...

Very sorry of reading this, Hans

It seems that you pushed it a little too much; reduced half a minute in a few laps.

What happened, according to yours and others opinions?

Yeowch! Heal up quick!

Just curious, what app is that? Does it start and stop your lap automatically? Or is someone doing it for you?

Hold up!....

You basically trimmed 20 seconds from your lap time. I love those kinda days!!!! You were pushing something because you don't drop those kinda times without a breakthrough of some sort. What was it?

Sorry to hear about the wreck.

I'm with chris and chone.
Your improvement was most impressive.

What gear were you wearing?

there's this small black patch at turn 7 right after the apex which supposedly has very low traction and people lowside there all the time. This was told to me during the track walk, so I was avoiding it like the plague. Which means all my lines were going around this patch. I was also pushing myself more and more every lap. So I guess I leaned over too much and gave it too much gas going out, causing the rear to lose traction.

Harry's lap timer. I used it with an external GPS system giving me a 5hz update speed. Once you load a lap in it, it starts and stops automatically every time you pass the trigger.

Actually the lap times weren't THAT impressive. The track was new to me and so was the bike. So I took it pretty easy in the first few laps before picking up the pace. If I hadn't crashed I'm sure I could have cut it by at least another 10 seconds...

That uneven patch is nasty.
I remember last time, this guy on an R1 went over it, lost the rear and had a nice little highside.
I hope they fix it soon.
And the really fast guys do 1:25s on the R15, so the 1:50 is pretty good for your first trackday at Kari

Sorry to hear about your crash Hans. Hope you heal up soon. I know I was really bummed a little while back when I wrecked my dirt bike pretty good. I just had to remind myself that I wasn't riding on the street and pushing it off road can be unpredictable.

Just remember that even the best riders wreck at the track. It's just happens when you're pushing the limits. Hopefully you won't let it get you down, sounds like you were making some good progress that day.
