ch'yeaaahhhhh

My calming ride today was zen. I was just working on flowing and relaxing. And I was fast because of it. it felt damn slow compared to MTB trail, then i'd look down and realize I was trucking. Smooth as a baby's butt. I just need to remember that calm when we're at the big Mid-O. When i get frantic, I get overwhelmed. When I stay calm and fluid, I'm fast and calm.

I need some more days like today's ride.

BTW, new tires ordered, as well as intiminators for the forks. Will do burnouts with the old tires when the new ones arrive

don't worry about it. If my bike isn't fully prepped in time for the shenny weekend then you'll be there for my first track day. Either way you're largely responsible for me putting this much effort into getting to the track so I'm looking forward to the midOhio track day quite a lot.

I'm fairly confident the bike will be ready in time for the shenny date though since all it needs is clip on bars, raised pegs, and a tachometer. If I don't get a tach I'll just use the stock one as bulky as it is

Well, I'm in for the 28th. We're a month out, I'll get my vaca day(s) in at work so I have the day off.

Working on borrowing the trailer again, if not we can always use the bed of our truck. My dad is getting his vaca dates figured out. He wants to come watch again!

@Sirref, where you at with your build, son? Anything I can help with since I've got the bike up on stands in the garage? pics? measurements?

I feel like I'm almost done, just installed the rearset brackets (the yoshimura ones were almost a direct fit, had to shave a biy) and I'm working on getting the front clip-on bars on after a little housework today.

Once I'm done with the bars I think I'm good to go, just swap the fluids and then remove the center stand.

Might need to mess with the front suspension to stiffen it up a bit but I don't know the first thing about how to do that at the moment so I'm thinking I'll leave it for now.

looks like I'll be doing another track day at shenny before heading to midOhio then

edit: actually thinking about it I really like 8/5-8/6 if we go that route then I won't do a 2nd day at shenny and the drive out will be more worth it since I'll be riding 2 days instead of one

8/5 and 8/6 should work. That's right before I go back to school. 8/25 is definitely no bueno for me, as that's right when the school year starts. Plus those are the 9:00-3:00 days that I like.

Maybe I could do both days. Hmmmm.

goin' broke and not being able to pay for it in the first place and get there and do another track day on the 27th are two very different things hahaha

I know I want to get out there, but we'll have to see how the money goes with my shifts in the next few weeks since I have to set up the truck too (aka, buy a ramp and buy some tie down bolts (I have 4 spots drilled in already to tie the bike down I just need the actual thing to hook into))

sounds like a plan, ideally I'll be riding both days but I'll definitely be riding the 5th. I'm signing up for another day at shenny on the 27th and I'll sign up right after that. If I have the cash lying around to pay for both I will, if not I'll just ride the 5th.
