***PLEASE READ***
Mid-ohio will have Indy cars on the track this weekend. What this means is the track conditions will not be normal. They seem to leave a lot of rubber on the track and they are known for tearing up the track too. So, please be careful and take a good look at the conditions.
There are several riders from another forum going (ohioriders, good people), one of them is a medic at the track.

Woot!

last minute preparations ftw, I'm getting the tie down mounting bolts professionally installed on monday at 1pm (they said it wouldn't take more than half an hour to do) so I'll be packing up after that to head down, hopefully everything fits with the bike in the bed. Worst case scenario I run out of space and start cutting non necessities.

the only things I'm worried about fitting are the ramps (didn't have the cash to get the folding ones) I know they'll fit on their own but the bike will take up a good deal of space. The cooler is a bit ehh but I think I can make it fit in the cabin under my gear if it won't fit in the back.

This all said, I'll probably be leaving around 2-3pm so I'll probably show up trackside around 10pm. I'll have as much as possible packed ahead of time so I can show up a bit earlier.

My dad laughed when I showed him the posts about jade. I hope she and/or lance comes. Heck, the whole smith family is welcome!!! Good people!!!

Related note. Food plan. What can I bring? They'll have lunch for us both days. That leavs us for one dinner and a breakfast. Plus snacks and beverages. We have a giant cooler we'll bring and we'll stop in town and get ice. I'm thinking if bringing some fruit. (Apples, bananas, etc) and some water, as well as some backup plates and napkins. Ideas for breakfast and/or dinner? I'm always game to buy some pizza or something. Or we can do a little prep at home if y'all have ideas.

We're going to be there at 7:00 or a little earlier on Tuesday. We're bringing folding chairs so we all have aplace to sit in the paddock/in the infield.

alright, got the tie down bolts installed. I'm friends w/the mechanic who installed it so we did it together at no charge during his lunch break (would otherwise have been ~$50 or so)

now all I need to do is load up the truck and I'm good to go, will probably head out in an hour or so

Cage safe brother and see ya in a bit.

Lance is not coming , he doesn't want to miss TKD classes as he will be working on a midterm for a 2nd degree black belt in Dec. So it's just me and Jade but don't worry, Jades attitude is infectious and just wait until you see this little trooper help out! I can't bring my dog either . No pets allowed at mid-o.

Don't forget a flashlight or something, I got two little lights but you might want to plan on your own in case I forget one.

Okay, here's what my dad and I have:

Apples
bananas
grapes
hotdogs (i know we'll likely have those for lunch, but they're just in case)
a few beers. We can all trade and share.
flashlight
battery powered lanters
a couple chairs
a couple cinder blocks so we can secure the tent without a gas can
sleeping bags, etc
5 gallons of gas

We're packing up tonight, and leaving the house early tomorrow morning. We're planning to be there a few minutes before 7:00am tomorrow.

I forgot to fill out the stupid liability release form... again. Whatever, they'll have plenty of those to go around during check in at 7:15

A bit late, but....

Pedialyte is awesome if you don't mind the slightly weird taste. I drank some between every session and it kept me hydrated and focused for both days, even in warm temps and wearing leathers. Two liters per day was just right, and the best flavor was WalMart store brand fruit punch. If you have to stop for supplies, get some.

Stuff like this matters when you get to be an old fart like me. At age 55 recovery ain't easy.

nahhhhh, I have water, a faucet to refill it, and snacks. Even cycling, I get my electrolytes from what I eat, not what I drink. I could use electrolyte powder, but I usually prefer having some idea what I'm eating and I kinda like straight water that tastes vaguely like the bottle. I have some gatorade as well. But that's really just for a change in what I'm drinking. I'm not overly fond of Gatorade.

Well versed in hydration. I'm a cyclist/runner/attempted swimmer. I appreciate it though.
