Newb from Tampa
Ok, here's my newb intro thread! I just bought an '09 250R in Red. Found it on Craigslist used with 17 miles on it. I've always thought it would be cool to ride but was always too chicken to try it. Not sure why that has changed but I decided that nothing ventured equals nothing gained, so here I am with my first bike at age 38. One of my best friends has an '03 250R and he opened my eyes to what great bikes these are. I'm taking the MSF class next weekend so I'm really looking forward to learning a lot. Since the class is required to get a license here in Florida I've not been riding at all, except a few laps around my neighborhood practicing starting and stopping and getting the hang of using the controls. I have a lot of experience in high performance driving and racing in cars but this is a whole different deal. I've no illusions of racing this motorcycle. I'll be perfectly happy just to have some safe motoring with my friends.
Anyway, I've joined all of the various Ninja related forums and so far this one is my favorite. Seems like a really nice bunch of people. Cheers, Kevin |

Thanks for the welcomes! Can't wait to get some miles under my belt. It's going to be scorching hot taking the MSF class this weekend, but I can't wait until cooler weather.

Passed my MSF class. Now just have to get down to the DMV to get my license done and I'll be able to ride.
