"Unapproved Visitor Message"?

Anyone else get one of these as a Visitor Message? -

"I’m Florie. I work for Bolero, a French web marketing company. Our client, Michelin, would understand better his customer behavior purchasing tire.
To do so, I wonder if you mind answering some few questions about motorcycle and bicycle tires. It’s less than 10 questions and wouldn’t take lot of your time.
If you’re okay, please follow this link:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...rm?usp=sf_link
It will guide you to the short inquiring.
Thank you for your attention. Have a good day.
Florie"

Looks like spam, smells like span, most likely is spam. Legit surveys from legit marketing companies will not leave a "public" visitor message like that.

Steps;
DO NOT click on the link
Do not contact the user that created the message
Notify @Alex
Alex will let you know how to proceed

I copied and pasted the link into the Tor browser, and I got a message saying that the page doesn't exist. It's not even good Spam.

Seemed odd. I didn't try the link.

I was curious to see if it was something that everyone got.

Never had any SPAM messages come to me directly through the forum before.

Thanks guys.

Alex should be chiming in shortly...

Got it - was able to see what you had deleted. Yes - it seems hinky. I can't (easily) see all of the visitor messages that someone sends without looking in other profiles - but there is a feature to wipe out all visitor messages that someone has sent. All of their messages have now been deleted, and the account is banned.

I don't mind giving my opinion (I have Michelins on my SV and 2 of my cars), but only if it's legit.

Can't be too careful these days. Seems like everyone one is trying to scam something from you.

Idk about that; but if you'd care to donate to starving orphans I'd be happy to process your donation

a whole 3% of your donation gets given to the cause, so you better donate a lot of money to make sure someone actually gets fed!!!

The other 97% covers "administration fees" and the CEO's salary.

When I got out of the U of MD, I started getting the usual requests for money. The one I got most was the "Annual Fund". The first time I got the call, I asked them to send me an annual report. I got a brochure with no substantial information. The next year I told them I wanted an annual report, and the girl I was talking to didn't know what that was. She told me that all the money goes to the cause, and I asked if she was getting paid to make the calls, to which she admitted she was. I got her to get her supervisor, who knew what one was, but didn't have any. Instead I got another brochure that actually had something like "Yes, we know our operating costs last year were too high, so we're working to reduce them." I quit talking to them at that point.

I once donated couple cars to "Cars 4 Causes", boy was that a mistake. They ended up being taken to court by IRS and one of the founders went to prison for tax-evasion. Of course, none of the monies actually made it out. I should've kept cars, sold them myself and donated proceeds to my favourite charity.

I like to use a ratings site that lets you compare various charity's efficiencies. http://www.charitynavigator.org

I give lots to The Hunger Project as they have some of the lowest admin & operations overheads so that 80% of collected funds actually makes it to their target audience.
