From Kawi To Ducati

I learned on the 250 and it will always have a special place in my heart but I needed more power. I know alot of you guys say the 250 has more than enough power but I beg to differ... I dont need to be speeding down the highway doing 150 but a boost in acceleration is more of what I was looking for. And 2 up was nooot cool lol.

Now for the specs! I got a 2002 Ducati Monster S4 900. The 900 has the 916 motor and a dry clutch. The previous owner installed an open clutch cover, staintune exhaust and crg barend mirrors (just about everything I would do) I absolutely love this bike the power is amazing and after about 2 months im starting to really feel at home with it!

What took me the longest to get used to was the decreased leverage to really be able to whip the bike around like the ninja, after I got used to that I was gold!

Nice bike! You have a few mods to go though:
-Tail chop
-Drop dem clocks/lower headlight
-Remove fork reflectors
-Flip handlebars or better yet get some clip-ons

Love it! Congratulations. No need to explain yourself on the upgrade - to me any time spent in the seat of a 250 is time well spent. If you don't mind my asking, how did you make out financially with the price you paid for your 250, price you sold it for, and the cost of the Duc?

How do you feel about the windblast on the naked?

As far as cost, I traded in my 2008 250 for 1700, and bought the Ducati for 4500. The ducati also came with hard bags and the whole mounting system... I promptly took them off lol, but it'll be great for long trips, we're doing Sturgis in 2014!

Nothing wrong with wanting more power, only with saying you NEED it

Enjoy that bike! I looked at a Monster before I settled on a 750SS. Love. The. Bike. I'm no where good enough to ride it well, but I still love it.
