New (Soon-To-Be) Rider in SoCal

Hey there! I'm currently living in SoCal, and after years of longing to ride, took my MSF course this past spring and will be picking up my first bike some time this month.

I don't have a whole lot of experience with bikes, just puttered around on a little 50cc back when I lived in Seattle, and occasionally I hang out with my biker buddies up in the Bay. So! I'm very excited to get into this and start learning, both from the perspective of in the saddle, and in the garage.

If anyone knows of some good places I should check out down here in OC, or has other advice for me, I'm all ears

Welcome J. My biggest advice is to start slow - it's been a while since your MSF course, so go to an empty parking lot and practice those exercises when you get the bike - make sure you are absolutely comfortable with the clutch and braking before you venture out onto the streets.

I'm actually a touch nervous that I haven't ridden in so long--makes me particularly nervous in context of a test ride. I have a couple friends who have offered to guide me as I start out, though, so hopefully that will be a big help.

Welcome J - glad to have you with us. What have you picked up for gear so far? Also, you can go to the Motorcycle Safety Foundation web site (http://www.msf-usa.org/) and down load some good info and things to practice in a parking lot. You can usually pick-up some small red cones at Wally World in the sports section that are used for kids field games for cheep.

Have fun and stay safe.

Sure Kawasaki's signature color is green. blah blah blah
But this is a NINJA !
Ninjas are BLACK not red, blue or green

Ninjas are black, period.
The only arguement is that dude from GI Joe but they don't offer us a white cartoon character option.

Ninjas are black!

Welcome, I love Socal !

Black, Thats what ninjas are !

Ahh, green is ok too.
The color wars are all in good fun anyways. All that matters is you that have one. It looks great. Enjoy it.
